Greetings! The Holiday Season is here and Sunshine Village is bustling with activity! We have socials, painting parties, and community outings planned to enjoy time with our friends. We are committed to delivering on the promise of a great day with innovation, new experiences, and friendships. Please consider giving the gift of great days with a donation to our annual appeal . Halloween Happenings

Parties and Contests

Our Community Based Day Services Program (CBDS) hosted an Apple Harvest Social for the families of both our participants and staff to enjoy. It was a special evening of apple pie sundaes, cider and singing. What a great time! Our Springfield and Westfield Programs have an Annual Halloween Gourd Shadow Box Contest and this year's competition was stiff. Congratulations to the winners with the most votes for their "Halloween Town" creation! A pumpkin dressed up as "ET" even had the famous light-up finger to win the Litwin Lane Chicopee Program's Pumpkin Decorating Contest . All entrants were extraordinary! A Halloween Door Decorating Contest was held at CBDS. There were 11 unique doors in total and it was difficult to pick just one favorite to win. The winning team's door was inspired by the hit movie, "IT" and was truly terrifying!

Fun With Friends! Creating designs on pumpkins with wax and paint made for a very fun afternoon at our Springfield site! Students at St. Joan of Arc school each received a homemade cupcake and cute pumpkin from our Main Street Chicopee Program. Seeing the kids smile makes us smile ! Our Westfield site enjoyed all things Fall with pumpkin picking, hayrides and farm animals at Fletcher Farm. Our CBDS Program designed a spooky window display for the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce's window . It looked terrific all lit up at night for passersby to see! Our Three Rivers Program had a huge party with tricks and treats for everyone!

Honoring Our Veterans

Recognizing Service

It is important to us that we honor our friends, employees and supporters that are veterans. Our Main Street Chicopee Traditional Life Engagement Program partnered with  Chicopee Department of Veterans Services  on a project for veterans of the Chicopee. Over 400 individual stars were cut out of several American flags and made into a commemorative gift . Each gift will then be presented to the veterans for a touching tribute to their service. Artists with distinct abilities from our Springfield Program presented their patriotic artwork to veterans at the  RiverMills Center Chicopee Council on Aging .

Community Partners To recognize their service, our Litwin Lane Chicopee Program presented original works of art to Superintendent Bennett Walsh and resident veterans of the  Soldiers' Home in Holyoke . Our Main Street Chicopee Program made crafts, cupcakes, and cards for the veterans at The  Soldiers' Home in Holyoke . Our Main Street Chicopee Program made patriotic cupcakes for a special veterans' service dinner. The seniors at Chicopee Comprehensive High School's Compaccino's prepared a delicious dinner and it was a great night for all! We were proud to have a table at the Veterans and Military Career Fair with VOICE and Holyoke Veterans' Services.

Our handmade crafts are so much fun to make and bring a smile to everyone! You can find our signs at Paul Bunyan's Farm and Nursery . Our other crafts, including bird houses, are available at Kev's Barnyard Flea Market . We are excited to announce two new enclaves from VillageWorks have begun big projects for our employment partner, Eppendorf in Connecticut. If you need work done on time and with enthusiasm call us !
