Upper Kirby Construction
Work on Westheimer, Bissonnet, and Eastside progressing
Westheimer Storm Drainage and Street Reconstruction:

Progress continues on the Westheimer Street Improvement project. Current work between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway includes  new sidewalks and  walkway paver installation.

This past weekend new driveways were installed at both Billy Reid and Chuy's.  New sidewalks  are near complete at Bellmeade Street directly in front of CVS, Oaks Cleaners and Relish Restaurant. Walkway pavers (pictured) are going in this week in this location as well as directly in front of the Bell Meade Apartments and Bethany Christian Church

This Monday and  Tuesday nights, new water lines will be connected to Bammel and Eastside streets. Water service for homes or businesses will not be affected.

Work continuing for the next few weeks includes  new pedestrian lighting and  landscape. Upon completion of the walkway pavers,  sidewalks will be re-opened for pedestrian traffic.

Bissonnet Storm Drainage  and Street Reconstruction:

New pavement is in place on Bissonnet between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway.
Roadway improvements between Dincans and Wakeforest include new roadway pavement.

The intersection at Wakeforest (pictured) is open to through-traffic, but Dincans Street will remain closed as new pavement is scheduled for later this week. West bound traffic has been reduced to a single lane in this area.

At the west end of the project near Buffalo Speedway, crews have installed the new waterline. New crews are installing utility lines as well as excavating west of Belmont Street.

New landscape, pedestrian lighting, and irrigation on the south side of Bissonnet  between Kirby and Wakeforest will resume after the first of the year.

Eastside Street Utility and Streetscape Improvements:
Work is progressing on Eastside Street south of Richmond Avenue. The southbound vehicle lane and adjacent sidewalks have been removed. New water lines will be connected this week. Water service for homes or businesses will not be affected.

Please be courteous to other drivers and obey construction zone speed limits in this area adjacent to Levy Park.  Over the next few months work in this area will include installation of new storm drainage and new   roadway  lighting. New roadway pavement in this section is scheduled for mid-December.

Notice: Eastside Street between Westheimer and Alabama will be closed to through-traffic from November 27,2017 to February 24, 2018.
