This professional development event at the Shady Grove campus will focus on entrepreneurship. Our panel of entrepreneurs will recall their own stories of success while also offering tips to students on how to begin their own businesses. Panelists include: Merav Yuravlivker, Co-Founder CEO of Data Society; Michelle May, Founder and CEO of Shenami; and Don Baker, Founder and Chief Funding Guide of FundingTrek.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new feature on the PTMBAA Blog - Student Spotlights, where we will be highlighting our diverse student body throughout Smith's three part time campuses.
Angela, a Branch Chief for the FDA, is from the Shady Grove campus. She's
originally from Casper, Wyoming and her favorite DC restaurant is Rasika Downtown.
Carl is the Smith School's Director of Military and Veteran Affairs and has taken classes at all three part time campuses. He's a father of three boys and has been watching Game of Thrones.

Part time MBAs from DC area programs gather for networking event
On November 17th, part time MBAs from the George Washington School of Business, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, Kogod School of Business at American University, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and the Smith School packed the rooftop of Hawthorne on U Street for the first ever Friendsgiving DC-Area MBA Programs Networking Night. Students shared their experiences as working professionals while earning their MBAs in the DC region. We thank everyone for coming out and making the program a success! Check out the photos on

Winter Clothing Drive
Leadership Group Collecting Donations on DC Campus through November 25th
Through Saturday, November 25, 2017
As the winter is fast approaching, DC campus students are organizing a
winter clothing drive through November 25th. Bring your extra hats, scarves, coats, gloves, blankets and more to keep your fellow Washingtonians warm during these harsh winter months. Donation bins will be available on the DC campus and in other select locations. All donations will be provided to Thrive DC.
