Program Management Leadership Academy – Apply Today!
Supervisors and managers of direct-line staff in Trust-funded service programs are invited to apply for The Children’s Trust’s inaugural Program Management Leadership Academy (aka "The Academy"), which will take place in 2018. The Academy is a leadership development program designed to help supervisory leaders of Trust-funded organizations serving children, youth and families move to the next level of personal and professional growth. Participants will learn effective strategies to handle major leadership and organizational challenges, and be encouraged to interact, discover and communicate as they build their skills to become awesome leaders. And you are invited to apply to be a part of it! In alignment with our mission, The Children’s Trust will soon release competitive funding opportunities (Requests for Proposals/RFPs) for programs that support children and families in five-year funding cycles, in the following program areas: youth development, parenting and early childhood development. An important component of the process is the engagement of local community members to work with Trust staff in reviewing applications submitted for funding, and we hope you will consider joining us in this critical endeavor. Workshop: Finding Grants Online with the Foundation Center Directory
Providers new to grant-seeking or looking to diversify funding streams can tap into an invaluable resource with Finding Grants Online with the Foundation Center Directory, a special workshop designed to help nonprofits find potential funders, discover what funders are looking for when awarding grants, and utilizing the Foundation Center's newly improved grants resource, Foundation Directory Online. Bring your laptop and be ready for hands-on search help in pursuing grant opportunities in Miami-Dade. Two locations and times available (workshops are identical):

First Aid Training: Youth Mental Health
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (YMHFA) is an 8-hour course that teaches any adult how to help an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to the signs and symptoms of addictions and mental illness, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Fundraising Basics: Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
The Women’s Fund presents the second in its series of five workshops to help nonprofit leaders better manage their organizations, make them more sustainable and build capacity. The next workshop will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 8:30-11 a.m. , at the Center for Social Change Miami, 2103 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33145. Participants will learn how to make each of their donors feel appreciated, and how to steward small gifts for renewals and upgrades. Community Prosperity Coordinators
Catalyst Miami seeks two community prosperity coordinators to provide bilingual services (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) to low- and moderate-income individuals and families to help them establish comprehensive household wellness and recover from natural disasters. This position navigates children and families with children through the complex healthcare delivery system, linking them to a medical home, KidCare, Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), and/or other related social services. Other responsibilities include providing basic financial coaching services to clients to help them achieve their fiscal goals around the topics of credit score, tax preparation, budgeting, saving, utilization of quality financial services, asset development and financial education. Available Positions at Florida Foster Care Review

  • Administrative and Finance Coordinator To be responsible for supporting administration, operations/facilities, finance, budgeting, human resources and IT activities. Minimum associate degree, accounting, finance or business administration preferred; 5+ years professional work experience, preferably in financial and office management; and, ideally, nonprofit administration, bookkeeping and grants management experience. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel; technologically savvy with an eye for detail, and an effective collaborator and communicator.   • Review Specialist To be responsible for preparing, coordinating and facilitating review hearings conducted by its Citizen Review Panel (CRP) program. The review specialist is also responsible for collecting data during the review and producing the CRP’s findings and recommendations report; supporting the management of volunteers; participating in the training and evaluation of CRP volunteers; and attending court hearings and relevant child welfare and community meetings/events. Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, and at least three years of frontline experience in child welfare and the dependency court system. Available Positions at Lotus House Women's Shelter *

  • Child-Parent Psychotherapist To provide evidence-based Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) with fidelity for children (ages birth-5) and families with high special needs, histories of complex trauma, and medical and mental health issues. Must be trained in and have experience in CPP, and must be committed to helping improve the lives of women and children in the community. Minimum master's degree in mental health counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or the equivalent; must also be licensed or a registered clinical intern; bilingual fluency (English-Spanish) required.
  • Nonprofit Bookkeeper/Grant Manager To assist with bookkeeping, financial and contract reporting, and compliance to funding and regulating agencies. Responsibilities include without limitation generating and interpreting financial reports, billing, payroll, classing of revenue and expenses, reporting of line items to QuickBooks management, and compiling and completing reports to various funding and government agencies. Must possess 5+ years' bookkeeping/financial reporting experience, or an associate degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience; and solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles, including but not limited to GAAP Skilled QuickBooks User, including reports and analysis; experience in QuickBooks software and understanding of nonprofit financials preferred.
