Barbara is a new entry in Kindred Group, she joined the Company in October 2017 as Italian Country Manager.She has a long history in online gaming, so much so that she likes to define herself a
“veteran” in this industry.She started her career in igaming in 2008 when online poker had just been regulated and the now over Eur 1billion Italian igaming industry, had just taken off. She is absolutely passionate about marketing, and considers herself extremely lucky to be part of an industry that gave her the possibility to grow as a manager and marketing professional. Barbara is enthusiast to work in such an important and advanced market as Italy, with a lot of competition and challenges that stimulate her competitive attitude. In her free time, apart from spending time with her little girl and her husband, Barbara is a devoted yoga practitioner and skier.
Natasha Gowans
Head of Communications, GiG
Natasha leads the internal and external communications teams at GiG and is her priority is to build GiG’s reputation in iGaming and beyond. She previously held senior corporate communication roles at LinkedIn, Accenture and Barclays bank. She is British and lives in Malta with husband Rodrigo and 1 year old son, Ruben.
Aparna Lyer
Senior Product Owner, Catena Media
Aparna started off as a developer on Unix, moved on to being an Analyst, Scrum Master and now a Senior Product Owner with Catena Media. Worked with a variety of verticals from media (BBC, Sky), Insurance (Lloyds-HBOS), Online Retail (Net-a-Porter) to of course iGaming (Meccabingo, Euromillions and Catena Media). Passionate about Agile, collaborative working and good customer experience. Enjoy playing the guitar, singing and yoga.
Karolina Pelc
Casino Director, LeoVegas
Heading up casino operations and product development teams across Malta and Stockholm offices. She holds over 12 years hands on experience within all areas of the Gaming Industry including 5 across brick and mortar Casinos. Prior to LeoVegas, she held a position of Head of Casino within the Betsson Group as well as variety of both product and marketing roles for well-established industry players such as Bodog, Paddy Power or Royal Caribbean. She holds a particular interest in the areas of mobile innovation, Live Casino and product development.
Petra Zackrisson
Vice President Corporate Development, Betsson AB
Petra has more than 20 years experience in management consulting and international business development and was recently appointed to her present role within Betsson AB, the holding company of Betsson Group. Her previous role encompassed M&A and Petra oversaw the expansion of Betsson Group into various markets across the globe. Before joining Betsson in Malta 2013 she lived in Norway, Spain, France, US, Estonia and Chile.
Carla Maree Vella

Carla comes from the island of Gozo and is the CEO of Maltese based, Scandinavian founded venture capital company Optimizer Invest. Carla has pretty much been attached to a computer since she was born and lives and breathes digital technology. She is entrepreneurial and innovative but her key strength is her 'make it happen' approach to business. She is passionate about user experience, digital marketing, technology, data, operational efficiency and CRO. Today she works in a highly active investment firm where she looks at new investment opportunities as well as works actively with a handful of the 24 portfolio companies which are in the Fintech, iGaming and Lead Gen space.
