Art with a Heart in Healthcare provides personalized fine art experiences that enhance the healing process for patients and their families.
I Carry Your Heart In My Heart
Transforming Perceptions In Healthcare

Art students from UNF are carefully selected each year by distinguished professor Louise Freshman Brown to take part in a groundbreaking intern partnership with the Art With A Heart In Healthcare program at Wolfson Children's Hospital, Nemours Children's Clinic and the Ronald McDonald House in Jacksonville, Florida. While the children's interactions with the interns are profound, the experiences of the art students who work with these children are equally transformative.

The Film I CARRY YOUR HEART IN MY HEART explores not only the work these art students do with Art with a Heart In Healthcare, but also how being involved with this program and these children changes them as artists and as people. The film also explores how this experience, guided by Freshman Brown and Lori Guadagno, sets the stage for these young interns to continue to utilize their creativity to powerfully impact both the hospital setting and their communities.

Extending our services to Nemours

Ronald McDonald House Beam

We are ecstatic to be a permanent part of the extension of the Ronald McDonald House! This beam symbolizes our never wavering support for everyone who is in our program. Art with a Heart In Healthcare will always be your strength and a friend you can lean on but more importantly, a creative outlet to keep your dreams blooming.

        arbus:What's In Your Head?
arbus Covers The Unmasked Show At MOCA

When posed with that question countless images can go through your mind - an office desk piled with projects that need to get done, the Jaguars game that you are looking forward to this weekend, or even something as mundane as the pot roast you are going to have for dinner tonight. When young patients at Wolfson Children's Hospital were asked the same question, "What's in your head?" they each answered that question by painting a mask.

Visiting Artist Series
Visiting Artist: Steve Barr
AWAHIH would like to thank Steve Barr, Mia Clark and Bebe Alexander for being our visiting artists this last quarter. As always, the artist did an amazing job visiting the little ones at their bedside and bringing smiles through their gift's. Steve brought bedside fun to his sessions by drawing cartoons with the children. Bebe from St. Marks Episcopal Day School  also contributed to the magic with her amazing Foil project. Mia was spot on with her book The Dot.

"I've seen amazing things happen throughout this process.  I got to watch a young girl who was going through chemo and radiation treatments skip down the hallway, clutching art supplies to her chest and singing I get to draw!  I get to draw!" -Steve Barr
