Right Hand Man captures the Oakland Stakes for his third stakes win!
A year ago Right Hand man was perhaps the top 2 year old in Northern California with stakes wins in the Cavonnier Juvenile and Golden Nugget Stakes. Now as a 3 year old, he stakes claim as the best local sprinter after winning the Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate Fields on Saturday. The race's large, high quality field of ten included two-time defending champion Star Student, six time stakes winner Outside Nashville, Grade 3 winner I Will Score, Emerald Downs star Mach One Rules and 17 time winner Percy's Bluff.
Right Hand Man, with Ricardo Gonzalez in the irons, pressed the pace to the stretch while two wide, rallied to edge clear to mid stretch then won by a nose in a fast final time of 1:09.39. Congratulations to the Blinkers On Partners!
