If you are up for some foraging, our local white pine, growing abundantly all over Southern New England, can provide some interesting gifts as well. I harvested some a couple of days ago. It will be dried and destined for baths, liniments and cookies!!!

 APOTHECARY PROGRAM

A Four Week Program

APOTHECARY PROGRAM -  
Level 1 - begins January 9, 2018

Every herbal preparation you have ever wanted to know how to make!

This four week program will provide a foundation for the herbal student to learn a wide variety of herbal preparations. Each meeting will focus on using a different medium, or menstrum, using water, alcohol, vinegar, glycerine, topical applications and oils. Hands on experience each meeting. Students will begin a Materia Medica  using key herbs, as well as how best to stock the herbal pantry. This program is a prerequisite for anyone wanting to go deeper into the next levels of formulating, body systems, specific actions, case studies and research. 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a four week program.  When registering, you are registering for entire program, not an individual class. 

PROGRAM COST: $225.00 - All materials and handouts are included

TIME: 6:30-9:00 pm
Program will be held in North Kingstown - specific location provided upon registration

Week 1 - Water as menstrum - teas, syrups; stocking pantry; fresh vs. dried herbs; two herbs tbd; hands on tea and syrup

Week 2 - Alcohol, Vinegar, Glycerine as menstrum - tinctures, oxymels, elixir; two herbs tbd; hands on tincture, oxymel, elixir

Week 3 - Topical Applications - compress, poultice, liniment; three herbs tbd; hands on poultice, liniment, compress demo

Week 4 - Oil as menstrum - topical oils, salves; two herbs tbd; hands on oil and salve
