OCTOBER IS WALK TO SCHOOL MONTH. Does your RHS student walk to school? Bike to school? Ride the school bus to school? Carpool with other students to school? The City of Redmond SchoolPool program is partnering with RHS and the RHS Green Team to promote Walk to School Month. Throughout October, all Redmond schools will participate. This effort reduces traffic congestion, creates an awareness of pedestrian safety, and increases physical activity among students, and concern for the environment and carbon footprints. Students will track their alternate trips, i.e., non-drive alone trips to school, throughout October. The student will be rewarded (gift cards to local restaurants) and for each student that submits their tracking calendar, the RHS Science Department will be rewarded, monetarily. For more details on how to track trips, please contact: Ms. Robinson, Science Dept., Mr. Cruz, EEL IA., or Nicole Wiebe, City of Redmond, nwiebe@redmond.gov
