With one act of kindness and caring we can change the lives of those in our community. I know you have many opportunities to volunteer and donate, I just want to highlight three special organizations to keep in mind this time of year and all year round.

FISH of Laurel: FISH helps feed the homeless and working poor in Laurel. It provides a hot meal to those in need seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year. To volunteer, donate or ask a question email [email protected] - visit www.fishoflaurel.org -call 301-262-7106.

Bowie Interfaith Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund:  A community based program that provides food and emergency financial assistance to those in Bowie and Prince George's County. To donate, adopt a shelf,or volunteer - email [email protected] - visit www.bowiefoodpantry.org - call 301-262-6765.

Charlotte Hall Veterans Home: Giving back to veterans and their spouses who have given so much through their service can easily be accomplished by donating or volunteering with this special program that provides assisted living and nursing care to Maryland veterans and eligible spouses. In addition, the drive is worth it when you get a chance to visit with so many veterans that often may never otherwise receive a visitor. To volunteer or donate visit www.charhall.org or call 301-884-8171.

May the Thanksgiving holiday bring you good things
in abundance that stay with you all year long.
