Welcome to The Family!

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Mrs. Tiffany, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to the family.  We invite you to become a member of a family of believers God is using to "reach to teach, teach to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will choose to attend the reunion to receive the love God has given us to give to you specifically!   #Galatians610  #HarvestTime  #HolySpiritRestatMTC
Notes From Sunday's Sermon
"GOOD NEWS" ( Luke 2:8-19

Fake news is defined as a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate misinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional print and broadcast news media or online social media. Fake news is written and published with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, often with sensationalist, exaggerated, or patently false headlines that grab attention.

The  announcement of the birth of the Christ Child by the angel was not fake news, it was good news, and a divine message sent from heaven to earth by God.

This Christmas season, the American Atheists organization has launched a billboard campaign to question whether the birth of Jesus actually happened. The signs feature a nativity scene with the statement: "Just skip church. It's all fake news!"

Secularists and liberal theologians have mocked the virgin birth for centuries. Thomas Jefferson called it a fable. The concept of a woman giving birth to a baby without a man's involvement is ludicrous to unbelievers. It contradicts all the laws of biology.
But the Virgin Mary was not a scoffer. She asked the angel how she would bear this child, and he said: "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you" (Luke 1:35a).

The Incarnation cannot be explained in purely biological terms. There was nothing sexual about it, yet Mary's ovum was fertilized without Joseph's sperm. Divinity merged with humanity. Jesus, fully God and fully man, began a nine-month gestation.

This is the most glorious revelation of the nativity. Bible teacher R.T. Kendall put it this way: "The virgin birth of Christ shows that salvation can never come through human effort." God performed this science-defying miracle without our help. All we can do is receive His amazing love and forgiveness. -USK

Season of Advent
December 3 - December 24, 2017

The time before Christmas is Advent, a season of preparation for Christmas. Christians prepare for celebrating the birth of Jesus by remembering the longing of the Jews for a Messiah. In Advent, we're reminded of how much we ourselves also need a Savior, and we look forward to our Savior's second coming even as we prepare to celebrate his first coming at Christmas.

The five candles contrast darkness and light. They are lit in succession, one more each week as we count the Sundays in Advent. On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, the fifth candle-the Christ candle-is lit. Jesus is the light of the world, and the darkness has not put it out. The full blaze stands for the fulfillment of the promise.

The themes during the four weeks of Advent are Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.

Our Goal:  The Church must return to God Himself and be AWAKENED to who He is, who we are, and what we must do . . . Make Disciples! (Matthew 28:19-20).  Our faith may have been small, but we serve a great God who accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people.

Romans 12:2  NKJV reads, " And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
