Champagne toast
We are delighted to congratulate all the finalists and winners of the 2017 EFQM Awards, but it was especially heartening to see the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority - DEWA - win the Award. This is the very first time it has been won by an organisation from outside Europe. I led the assessor team and was very impressed by how DEWA have not only achieved world class results across most elements of the EFQM Model, but also built sustainability into their strategic vision to ensure long-term success into the future.

All Award winners are organisations who are fully committed to the fundamental concepts of excellence, as defined in the EFQM Excellence Model and are using these to maximise their performance.

Well done to all of you!

Newsletter - November 2017
_________________________________

In our August Newsletter we outlined the purpose and assessment criteria and listed the nominees for this prestigious award, which this year is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. We are now delighted to bring you news of the winners. We were very pleased to attend the announcement of the these, which took place at the EFQM Forum Gala Dinner in Madrid on 26th October. Below are a couple of photos taken by us at the event.

As before, we have spent time over the summer supporting the Award process by providing assessors, especially as we have more consultants who are EFQM Licensed Advisors and EFQM Master Assessors than any other European consultancy.

I myself led the assessor teams for two of the winning organisations - the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority - DEWA and Robert Bosch GmbH, Blaichach Plant (BhP) so I was particularly delighted when they both were recognised with the main Award. See below left our congratulations to them and other winners. In fact, another of our colleagues, Andrew Penn assessed the other winning organisation - Glasgow Housing Association and along with other ley hill solutions associates have been involved in and usually lead many assessor teams in the past that have won both this Award and the coveted UK Excellence Award. Winners of the 2017 EFQM Global Excellence Awards

The EFQM Global Excellence Award is designed to recognise the world's best performing organisations, whether private, public or not-for-profit. Assessment is based on the nine areas of the EFQM Excellence Model.

This year's winners are -
  • GLASGOW HOUSING ASSOCIATION
  • ROBERT BOSCH GMBH, PLANT BLAICHACH, IMMENSTADT
  • DUBAI ELECTRICITY AND WATER AUTHORITY - DEWA
The winners were announced at the end of the first day of the EFQM Forum, taking place this year on the 26th and 27th of October. Click here to see more about the EFQM Forum at which the Award was presented.

In addition to the main award, a number of other prizes are traditionally presented in specific areas of excellence and the winners of these and the main award can be seen here.

Also have a look at the recognition book showcasing all the prize winners, who explain how using the EFQM model has helped them achieve and maintain such high levels of excellence. It contains some very useful learning points for anyone who wishes to improve their own performance.

Sincerely,

Graham Hull
