Mike in Liverpool, England

It's December already. What a year it has been for us! As you review your own year, I hope it includes some fond memories of music. We can all use more of that in our lives. I remember once being invited to a holiday dinner party where they were playing games around the table that included questions we each had to answer. I was embarrassed by my question, "What is the most important ingredient to add to your home during the holidays?" Without hesitation I answered, "Music".  Why was this embarrassing for me? Because, I was sitting in the most gorgeously decorated home, enjoying delicious food, when suddenly the host jumped up, turned on the stereo and realized, after all their careful preparation, their home was still missing my most important ingredient. Oops. In the grand scheme of things it was mild compared to a political argument that ensued later that same evening between other guests.

Wherever you go and whatever you do this holiday season, I sincerely hope it is filled with lots of music and little or no politics.

Here are a few public performances Mike has this month. I know I speak for him as well as myself when I say "I hope to see you soon!"

Happy Holidays,

Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts Presents:

"Mike Bogle Jazz Trio Plays Gershwin"
Featuring Mike (piano/vocals), Lou Harlas (bass), and Harrell Bosarge (drums)

The Turner House is the home of The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts. Founded in 1926, the OCSFA was originally a social organization that promoted art, music, poetry, literature, and music. In 1957 the OCSFA purchased 401 North Rosemont (later named Turner House, in honor of founding board member Mrs. E. P. Turner) as its new home. Built in 1912 as the home of J. P. Blake, one of the founders of the Winnetka Heights addition to Oak Cliff, Turner House is an excellent example of modified-prairie four-square architecture.

Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts is proud to present Grammy nominated pianist, composer, and arranger, Mike Bogle, and his Jazz Trio. Listening to the sounds of Gershwin in this historical home is an evening you won't soon forget.
