Updates on Save the Rohingya campaign

With the joining of more partners as well as volunteers, OBAT has been stepping up its efforts to extend aid to the Rohingya.

We are extremely thankful for all our current volunteers:
Sophie Lee and Hannah Aiyana (film-makers and photo journalists, visiting from the UK and capturing the stories of the refugees to create awareness for their plight).
Dr. Zaid Hamoodi, a medical Doctor also visiting from the UK, has been in the forefront of all the medical relief efforts.
Mr. Zobair Khandaker, a local businessman has been the rock and support behind all relief efforts.
All kinds of help is still needed. Volunteers, especially Doctors are an important need; you can apply to volunteer here.

At present, OBAT has set up one medical center which is providing health relief to the refugees. Another is in the process of being set up.There are thirteen learning centers in operation so far for the children. These schools operate in three shifts and provide informal education. One community center has already been built while another is up and running. Two bridges have been built to facilitate foot travel of the refugees as they have to traverse hilly terrain and bodies of water to reach the refugee camp.
