The Sermon on the Mount, preached by our Lord Jesus himself, reveals the heart behind God's law. Jesus' revolutionary and penetrating teachings will transform the lives of any who dare put them into practice. In this final of our three summer sermon series on this great sermon, we will discuss "True Discernment." We will discover secrets of wisdom, self-awareness, and discernment, and we'll get a beautiful snapshot into the heart and character of God.

Sunday, September 10, 10:45am - 1:00pm. Our annual SeptemberFest is coming up! We are taking things outdoors for an all-church potluck picnic, complete with music, games, activities, prizes, and delicious food. Each of the ministries will have information and signups available, so it's a great time to see what programs and events are coming up at RRC, as well as ways you can get involved. See our website for more details.

Begins Tuesday, September 12, 9:30-11:00am, Room 212.  Faith: Depending on God. Led by Marcia Coleman and Jean Boyd. Why don't I get what I pray for? How do I know God is really there? If you ever struggle with uncertainties about faith, you find good company in the pages of the Bible. In these studies by Dale & Sandy Larsen you'll meet people who asked similar questions. And you'll learn from the biblical teachings of faithful people. Asking hard questions is the first step in your journey to deeper trust.

Saturday, September 23, 6:30pm. This fundraiser is in support of Chris and Mary Newkirk's son-in-law, daughter, and family. If you would like to volunteer or provide donations for food and prizes, please contact Diann Bertsch (616-540-7288) or Tammy Bonds (616-437-9091). Join us for a fundraiser to help the family with medical bills and day-to-day living expenses. A fun night of music, heavy appetizers, chance drawings, and games. $10 per person. See our website for more details.

Saturday, September 30, 9am. Ladies of all ages are invited to our annual Ladies' Day Event. This year's speaker will be Karen Hossink, author of Confessions of an Irritable Mother and Finding Joy. Karen has been a speaker for moms' groups and women's events since 2005, talking about the hope God gives in the midst of struggles. In addition to our main speaker, there will be a variety of breakout sessions and a delicious lunch, all enjoyed in fellowship with other women from our church and community. This is a half-day you won't want to miss, so register today! See our website for more info or to register.
