Week 1: December 1-8
World AIDS Day
December 1 is World AIDS Day . Pray for all those affected by HIV/AIDS. Pray for the work of CCIH members who are treating the ill, engaging faith leaders in reducing stigma, encouraging compassion and educating communities on how to prevent transmission of the virus. See Resources from CCIH members and others for more on how faith groups are addressing HIV/AIDS

Prayers of thanks for efforts resulting in local partnerships to address HIV, including the SIM partnership with the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church to provide care for those with HIV/AIDS.
Week 2: December 9-16
Famine and Christian Advocacy
Pray for 1.25 million people facing starvation in South Sudan , double the number from the same time last year. More

Two-thirds of Yemen’s 28 million population face shortages of food and clean water, with seven million on the brink of famine. Pray for the people of Yemen. More

Prayers of thanks for Christians speaking out about the crisis and calling on other Christians and policymakers to protect the vulnerable and feed the hungry. Thanks to CCIH members advocating for hunger relief. See the story of one student advocate called by scripture to act.

Week 3: December 17-24
Continuing Disaster Recovery
Stories of the devastation in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria have become less frequent, yet many still struggle in dangerous conditions. More about the long-term public health consequences of hurricanes.

Prayers of thanks for organizations serving those in need in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Prayers for World Renew and its efforts to rebuild homes on the island.
Week 4:December 25-31
Miracle of Christmas
Prayers of thanks for the birth of our savior , the inspiration for our work and service to others.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Pray for all bringing the love of Christ into their work. Pray for CCIH members bringing health and healing across the world. See global map of members
