Luther's Kwanzaa Celebration is coming up! Join us for chapel Friday, December 8 at 10:30 in the CFL and for the Festival Dinner on Saturday, December 9 from 4-6:30 p.m. in Peace Dining Room. Pre-registration by December 6 is required for the Festival Dinner. Please sign up here
If you are short on dining dollars, please sign up and we will work with you. Faculty and staff can pay the Diversity Center directly.

Wednesday, December 6 make plans to attend Christmas in the Union, and stop in the Book Shop. The Luther College Book Shop will be open from  8:45 a.m.-6:30 p.m. for an all-day Christmas Sweater party! Wear your favorite Christmas sweater and receive a treat, sign the naughty or nice list, enjoy in-store promotions, and free popcorn until its gone and a special appearance by Buddy the Elf from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.  This event is free and everyone is welcome!

Student Senate will be accepting applications for Diversity Representative of gender and sexuality for the upcoming semester. If you are looking to "be the voice for people of diverse genders and sexualities on campus" this would be perfect for you! Please email a short description of how you can contribute to the betterment of the Luther community and send to Student Senate.

Recreational Services is looking for fitness instructors, intramural officials and at least one outdoor staff member for the month of January. Please stop in to the Recreational Services office, 104 Dahl Centennial Union for more information.

Want to study Peace in Norway this summer?
Come to the CEPE Office (F.W. Olin Building, Room 214) on Thursday, December 7, 9:40 a.m. -10:50 a.m. for a drop-in session about the Peace Scholars program. Previous recipients of the Scholarship will be answering questions for interested students, applications are due in January.  
Wondering how to keep track of your sources, create a bibliography and footnotes? Zotero (a free application) helps you collect, manage, and cite your sources with a click of a button. Bring your laptop to our workshop and learn how to download Zotero and set it up to manage your resources (available for PCs and MACs).  Wednesday, December 6 , in Preus Library, Hovde Room.
RERUNS
Entrepreneur and author Stephen Smith will share his story about changing people's lives through "purposeful" entrepreneurship. Catch Stephen this Thursday, November 30, 9:40-10:30 a.m., in F.W. Olin Building, Room 101. Free doughnuts and refreshments provided. Stephen is an expert in student success and has coached many young adults on academic and life planning. Space is limited. Sponsored by the E-Club.

Public Meetings and Minutes!  Student Senate, as the student governmental body, would like the student body to know that meetings are public for all students, staff, and faculty members at Luther. Minutes for the meetings are also posted online

New Senate Position! On November 16, Student Senate approved an amendment to their bylaws that added the position of International Student and Allies Representative to their governing body. The student in this position will serve as a liaison between international students and Student senate. For more information on the amendment, and the duties of this representative, click here.

Harley Refsal, Luther professor emeritus and James Miller '20 will have a wood carving demonstration on Saturday, December 2 from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Book Shop.  Matteo Musso, will be signing his new book,  Handbook of Us, Understanding and Accepting People with Autism, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. On  Sunday, December 3 Harley and James will be back 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for an afternoon of wood carving demonstrations. They have created a limited edition Luther College wood carving ornament.

In addition, we have switched from Final Cut Pro to Adobe Premiere Pro in the Digital Media Center Lab.
