My Latest Chimney Rock Picture
If you have gotten this newsletter for any length of time, you already know about my captivation with Chimney Rock, between Pagosa Springs and Durango on Highway 160.
I have seen magnificent scenes many times but there is no shoulder to pull off on and this is in an area that could be slightly dangerous. I took my chances on this day - much too beautiful to pass up.

Houston Trip
Allan and I went to Houston to see his mom over the Thanksgiving holiday. She is living in an assisted living facility. We picked her up on Tuesday, then took her to Austin to Allan's brother's house where I think she really enjoyed herself.
Her hair had gotten much longer than we knew she liked it, so Becky, my sister-in-law, and I gave her a haircut. We put her in a child's high chair that leaned back, perfect for washing her hair in the kitchen sink. Obviously she thought that was pretty funny! The final effect was pretty nice, if I do say so myself.

Christmas Lights
I did the best I could but these pictures just do not capture adequately the beauty of the Christmas lights in Burnett and Georgetown, both small towns north of Austin, near Liberty Hill where Glenn and Becky live. Being from such a small town, we were awestruck by the magnificent displays. I think they were the take-away of the trip.

In Closing . . .
The cattle are all back in Arboles for the winter. We had excellent gains on all the animals, but especially the ones our daughter Lisa took care of in Pagosa Springs. Good job, Lisa!
