There are many great community holiday events in West County this year, featuring favorite traditions of music, lights, and delicious food.

Pinole Tree Lighting Ceremony -- Saturday, December 2, 2:30 pm-5 pm

Youth entertainment and festive Santa's Workshop.  Pinole Valley High School marching band leads a procession to the tree lighting ceremony; meet at  corner of Tennent Avenue and San Pablo Avenue in the Community Garden.

Santa Needs a New Sleigh! A Super FUN(draiser) Holiday Party! Tips support the annual Downtown Holiday Festival, hosted by Richmond Main Street and East Bay Center for the Performing Arts. Great beer & food, Santa photo booth, "ugly" holiday sweater contest, music, raffle prizes, & more. 


Eternal Light Contra Costa Chorale -- Saturday, December 9, 8 pm

The Lux Aeterna for chorus and chamber orchestra or organ was composed for the Los Angeles Master Chorale and its Maestro Paul Salamunovich, who premiered the work at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on April 13, 1997. Each of the five connected movements in this choral cycle contains references to 'Light' assembled from various sacred Latin texts.

The Sundar Shadi Holiday Display, a beautiful handmade nativity scene, is a beloved tradition in El Cerrito that would not be possible without community volunteers.
