Lessons & Carols 9:30 Service
This liturgy will include beautiful, traditional readings, hymns and anthems for the season of Advent. The opening procession will be a highlight of the service and will include the singing of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" accompanied by handbells and organ (a great reason to arrive for church on time that morning, if you possibly can!)
Faith & Practice
What's Our Current Financial Picture for 2017?
Join our Treasurer, Dan George, on behalf of the Executive Finance Committee, as we take a look at our operating budget for this year. Since our fiscal year is the same as our calendar year, we are tracking revenue and expenses through December 31. Dan will also share with us the report of the Investment Committee which manages our several endowment funds, both restricted and unrestricted.

New Trier Food Pantry - This Sunday
The pantry will be serving more families who have children home from school over the holidays, meaning those children won't be able to take advantage of breakfast and lunch programs at their schools. With that in mind, we will focus on collecting the following most-needed items from the Pantry's wish list:
* Juice and Juice Boxes
* Cookies/Crackers/Granola Bars/Raisins/other Healthy Snacks
* Canned Fruit
* Cake/Brownie/Muffin Mixes and other baking supplies
If you forget to add items to your grocery cart this week, we will have items available for "purchase."

Wrap & Roll Caroling Party December 10 - 4:00-7:30
It's (almost) that time of year! Mark your calendars and call your family and friends-the caroling party is around the corner. Thrown by the youth and parents of our congregation, we will wrap presents for the homeless, eat dinner (and Christmas cookies!) together, sing carols, and get a visit from St. Christopher-I mean St. Nicholas! It's a great time to celebrate with your church family and introduce your friends and relatives to our church community. There's a recommended donation of $15/person and $30 total per family, but no need to RSVP. The more the merrier, so save the date!

Christopher Powell invites you to join him for some

Vestry Nominating Committee Receiving Names-Deadline is Dec. 1
Our parish by-laws require the Rector to appoint a committee of four retiring Vestry
members and at least five other parish members to the parish Nominating Committee. They are to nominate a slate of four people for an upcoming Vestry term of three years each. This year we have an additional nomination to fill a one year unexpired term. In addition, we need to nominate a Junior Warden for a term of one year to be followed by a year as Senior Warden. If you have a nomination to make, please send that parish member's name to Office Manager
Charlotte McGee. Nominees must be 16 or older. Parish nominations close
Friday, December 1. The committee meets on Sunday, December 3.

Feed My Starving Children - Dec. 9 - Sat. - 9:00-11:00AM
We still need 13 people!!!
Christ Church will travel to
Libertyville to help Feed My Starving Children. We have decided to carpool instead of spending the money on tour buses. We will gather in the parking lot of Christ Church behind the 470 Maple Street address at 7:45AM or meet us at
742 E. Park Ave, Libertyville. We will leave promptly at 8AM. We will return at noon. We committed to bring 40 people.
More importantly for us, they accept volunteers as young as 5 when accompanied by an adult. This means that for families with small children, this can be an event that everyone can participate in together.
