Lessons through Carols HANDEL'S MESSIAH
7:00 pm
featuring St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church Choirs and Orchestra under the direction of Gabriel Lofvall
Prepare ye the way of the Lord...
St. Patrick-St. Anthony's 2017 Lessons through Carols will lead us in prayer guided by the masterful work of George Frederic Handel's Messiah oratorio, Part I. This incredibly beloved masterwork in Sacred Word and Music engages the hearer in the prophetic texts announcing the gift of God's anointed, the Messiah.
You will be comforted, engaged, and awed. Come! Hear anew the powerful words of the ancient prophets, words of hope, of compassion, and of God's faithfulness. Halleluiah!
A reception hosted by the Open Hearts Ministry will follow in the Franciscan Center. Free-will offering.

St. Genevieve School
|
|
Our sister parish, St. Genevieve in Zoranje, Haiti, is expanding the grade span of the school that serves the children of the parish. One of the major challenges connected with this effort is the acquisition of equipment for the new classrooms.
A related effort, therefore, is being made here to find and ship to Haiti educational equipment such as desks, chairs, blackboards and even computers that are available in CT schools due to reduced student enrollments. These pieces of equipment would be very useful for the children and staff at St. Genevieve.
The major challenge connected to this effort is establishing a system for shipping the equipment to Haiti. It would be very helpful, therefore, if there are any parishioners who have some connection to businesses that ship equipment to other countries and if those parishioners would be willing to provide some useful information and advice as to how to ship equipment to Haiti.
This effort is being coordinated here by Joe Cirasuolo who can be reached at
[email protected] or 203-494-7909. Joe would appreciate it, if anyone who can provide useful information would contact him.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Franciscan Challenge
|
|
I thank everyone who has contributed to the Franciscan Challenge. Your support is essential to the life and work of the friars. At this point we have raised over $22,000. Last year we hit over $70,000. I ask you to do what you are able and know of my gratitude. Click
here to make an on-line gift. There are also envelopes available in the church. This gift supports our senior friars, our younger men who are just beginning their journey with us and our work with those in need. I thank you. - Fr. Tom, ofm, Pastor
