Seminar Series: Ransomware 
 October 27th, 2017

We had a full house at the Vaughan Chamber office for fascinating look at ransomware, the newest cyber security threat. Thank you to guest speaker Moustafa Naguib, Director of Infrastructure at S uperior Propane,  for tips on how to pay the ransom using Bitcoin.

Women of Excellence Award
 November 1st, 2017

It was an evening of celebration as we honoured Susan Niczowski, President & CEO of Summer Fresh Salads as the inaugural Vaughan Women of Excellence Award recipient.

This award recognizes a female who is currently making a distinct and notable difference to the advancement of women in the Canadian workplace.

The crowd at this sold-out event was all ears as Susan accepted the award, sharing her inspiring story of how she built her company from the ground up over the past 23 years. With the help of her family, she started by developing healthful, flavourful salads, dips and hummus in her mother's kitchen, and has since worked tirelessly to build Summer Fresh into a respected food company.

8th Annual Women to Women Symposiumw2w
 November 15th, 2017

The day-long Women to Women Symposium included an informative panel discussion with three Cleveland Clinic healthcare professionals in the morning, as well as an inspiring fireside chat between our W2W Committee Chair, Isabella Bertani of Collins Barrow and this year's Vaughan Woman of Excellence Award Winner, Susan Niczowski, Summer Fresh Salads President & CEO.

We were thrilled to welcome Director, Producer and Screenwriter Deepa Mehta as our Keynote Speaker. Mehta was interviewed by TVO's Steve Paikin and spoke on her controversial films and the social issues that affect our society.

Attendees received our signature Swag Bags, filled with products and goodies worth over $350! Throughout the day, guests shopped at and visited with the 40+ vendors that wrapped around the room. A portion of raffle and silent auction proceeds went to this year's Charity of Choice - Jack.org. Some amazing prizes were won, including a $1,000 Shopping Spree at Vaughan Mills!

$2,000 was raised for Jack.org!!!
