The Newport Cooks Kitchen is the place to be this week!
On Thursday, November 30th from 6 - 9pm, Chef Leah Rosin-Pritchard is teaching 3 delicious, nutritious and oh, so decadent 100% Cacao desserts to gift and to enjoy. And, on Friday, December 1st from 5:30 - 7:30pm we're teaming up with
Lucky Dog Resort to bake for our best friends - our dogs! We'll learn to make 4 healthy treats for our 4-legged pals and go home with some too! See descriptions and links to register below...
Thursday, November 30th 6 - 9pm
Learn to make delicious raw cacao based treats and desserts chosen to delight you and your guests at holiday parties and gatherings! This class will be taught by Chef Leah Rosin-Pritchard creator of Leah's Recipe vegan, raw snacks and treats and Nola Ganem importer of 100% ceremonial grade Cacao from the Cloud Forest of Guatemala. Cacao is considered a superfood and tastes much like its cousin dark chocolate but with far more health and well being benefits. Cacao is noted for opening the heart and creating feelings of bliss when sipped or eaten, and who doesn't want to infuse more love and bliss into our lives WHILE eating or sipping delicious treats?! Our menu for this class is: Cacao Mint Bark (great gift!), Cacao Mousse Cake (party worthy) & Cacao Fudge (simply delicious). We'll also enjoy a warming cacao drink and dip fresh mint leaves in cacao as a fancy garnish or delicious snack. Wine tasting too! $75/student
Friday, December 1st 5:30 - 7:30pm
It's easy and rewarding to make your dog (or the dogs in your life) delicious, wholesome snacks using fresh, clean ingredients. In this hands on workshop style class we'll make, bake and create Grain-free Veggie Packed Dog Biscuits, Frozen Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats, Sweet Potato Chews and Beef Jerky. Everyone will go home with treats, then watch the tails wag. They make great gifts too! This is a collaborative class offered by Lucky Dog Resort & Newport Cooks. Appropriate for older children accompanied by an adult.
$50/student (includes materials, treats to take home and wine tasting)

Rhode Island is rich with fresh local ingredients
and boutique produced products. In this class, Chef Craig Jones will teach us to make an incredible, creative meal using locally produced ingredients.
Our menu for the evening: Roast Chicken with Herbed Compound Butter (Pat's Pastured), Pickled Root Veggies (Moonrose Farm), Mushroom Bisque with Sage Cream (Hillside Mushroom), Charred Kale Salad with Smoky Mustard Vinaigrette (Silverbrook Farm), Spiced Honey-Nut Squash with Strained Yogurt and Granola (Freedom Food Farm, Narragansett Creamery, Beautiful Day Granola). A Johnson & Wales graduate who has worked under noted Chefs Dan Barber, Jake Rojas, Jonathan Perno and Alberto Lopez, Chef Craig has a wealth of culinary knowledge to share with his students! We'll taste everything we prepare in class and taste wine to compliment the menu.
