Christmas Altar Flowers

If you would like to remember loved ones with flowers on the altar this Christmas,
either as memorials or as thanksgivings, kindly use the insert form in Sunday's bulletin.

Write your check to St. Francis for any donation you may wish (flowers are quite costly, so your generosity is appreciated) and place it with the completed form in the offering on Sunday, leave in the office, or mail to:

St. Francis, PO Box 76, Blue Hill, ME  04614.  Extra flower forms are
available in the Narthex or downstairs in the parish hall.

Thank you.

"Thanks to all who have enabled us to send $1000 to Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza from sales over the past year.  Your purchases of this excellent oil support the hospital's remarkable ministry to the people of Gaza via both in-patient and out- patient services, especially the mobile clinic that reaches hundreds who would otherwise have no medical care."

A new supply of bottles ($20) will be available on Sundays during coffee hour for your holiday gift giving and personal use.

For more information, contact Maurine Tobin at [email protected] or 348-9976.

A Thrill of Hope DVD

The Christmas Story in Word and Art

John August Swanson

Everyone is invited to come for a fascinating Adult Forum program produced by The Candler School of Theology at Emory University. The program is titled:
A Thrill of Hope: The Christmas Story in Word and Art and  is based on a series of artworks
created by John August Swanson depicting significant scenes in the Christmas story. Each session we will view a brief video which includes a reading of the appropriate text from scripture, interviews with the artist and various theologians as they
reflect on the meaning of the artwork. A lively discussion is sure to follow, so plan on joining us on the following Sundays after coffee hour:  Dec. 10, 17, 31 and Jan 7, 14, 21.

Thank you Nancy Doane and everyone who contributed! The new gift baskets were creative and a big hit. The greens with bows, wreathes, and arrangements were stunning!

The total amount received for Claudia's discretionary fund is $2,330.

Please use your favorite book seller to purchase the book.

St. Francis by the Sea Celebrates!

  Dear Friends,
As you are aware, I am rarely lacking words and yet that is what happened to me during a recent service. Not only did you totally surprise me with your amazing gifts, but also I was so deeply touched by your love, that it was beyond my ability to find the words to express my thanks at the time. That said, I hope you will now accept my thanks and appreciation for all that was done to celebrate my tenure here. In truth any celebration is one that needs to be shared among you all since all of the good things that have happened at St Francis have very much been a combined effort.   So thank you...thank you...thank you for the amazing party AND thank you... thank you...thank you for the past 10 + years together. May God continue to bless our work in the days to come.
With love and thankfulness for the people of St. Francis,
Claudia+

We welcomed The Rev. Claudia Wyatt Smith in August, 2007, and she has been busy ever since! Thank you, Claudia, for so much!
