Later this week, the Senate will vote on a tax reform bill that will raise taxes for millions of low-income individuals and families.  Tax reform should help, not hurt, people who work hard but still struggle to put food on the table.

If  passed, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would increase taxes for low- and middle-income families. By 2027, every income group making below $75,000 would face tax increases. The bill would also end the child tax credit (CTC) for 3 million children in low-income immigrant families.

In addition, the legislation would cause 5 million people to lose Medicaid and would also make deeper cuts to vital safety-net programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation's decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities where we live.

These lovely ladies are from Grace Presbyterian in Lantana. They come to our warehouse in Lake Worth several times a month to sort food for our seven food pantries.Thank you ladies for your faithful service! Check out our new volunteer shirts they are modeling. Only $5 per shirt. Please contact your program manager if you are interested.

Some people get excited about Black Friday, others Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. We at CROS get excited for  #GivingTuesday , a day for people around the world to come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Consider making a  Gift of Hope  to help
CROS feed the hungry this holiday season and throughout 2018.

Your gift will help John and his wife, Jillian. They relocated to Florida two years ago for a new employment opportunity. Everything was going well until Jillian was diagnosed with cancer and then John lost his job due to downsizing. Healthcare bills have eaten up a lot of their savings. While waiting for their SNAP (food stamps) application to be approved, they found a CROS food pantry to help with some food staples. John and Jillian are grateful for the assistance CROS can provide them during this very unsettling time.

To make a donation by credit card, please  click here . To make a donation by check, please make the check payable to CROS Ministries and mail it to 3677 23rd Avenue South, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
