Ideal Home Screening Ticket Giveaway
The New Mexico Film Office is celebrating 120 Years of Film in New Mexico! This month we are giving away 120 tickets to a special screening of Ideal Home on June 23rd in Albuquerque, hosted by Brainstorm Media, the Albuquerque Film Office and the New Mexico Film Office

Filmed in New Mexico, "Ideal Home" stars Steve Coogan (“Philomena,” “Despicable Me”) and Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man,” “I Love You, Man”).  “Ideal Home” is the story of Paul and Erasmus who live an elegantly curated and care-free life in Santa Fe - that is until Erasmus’ ten year old grandson appears on their doorstep, to stay. They immediately prove to be the worst caretakers in the world. Making every mistake possible, it turns out, is a reasonable form of parenting.

The first 10 people to go to the NM Film & Media Industry Conference pages on Friday June 15th and find the secret 120 message will win a pair of tickets! We have 4 pages where it could be hiding: the event home page, sponsors and vendors, schedule and panelists or Conference info!

Watch our Facebook page this week for more chances to win!
Vince Kadlubek, CEO & Cofounder of MeowWolf
The MeowWolf art installation in Santa Fe has, in a relatively short time, become a cultural phenomenon that reaches far outside the borders of New Mexico. Join our conversation with Vince Kadlubek, CEO & Cofounder of MeowWolf, as he talks about his own roots, the early inception of the group and ideas that led to the creation of MeowWolf, as well as the future directions it will take in media, gaming and filmmaking as well. It’s a fascinating marriage of art and commerce that is uniquely homegrown and New Mexican.

Liaison Spotlight: Jon Foley
Las Cruses and Doña Ana County
What jurisdiction do you represent?
I cover Las Cruces and the entire Doña Ana County. Las Cruces is my hometown and I couldn't be happier working for this community.

What productions have shot in your area?
Las Cruces and Doña Ana County have hosted a variety of content from Captain Fantastic to Ghost Hunters. Many other projects like Brokeback Mountain, Due Date, Enemy Way, Traffic, Hang 'Em High, and Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull. Aside from the big budget feature films, we have accommodated a variety of independent films. All the World is Sleeping recently wrapped and starred Melissa Barerra (“Vida”), Jackie Cruz (“Orange is the New Black”) and Jorge Garcia (“Lost”). We have two feature films currently in pre-production that I can't wait to announce.

How can you help filmmakers that come to your area?
I handle the film permits for the City of Las Cruces, assist with navigating through governmental agency needs (traffic control, county permitting, fire, codes, etc.), vendor discount, and locations. These are the primary resources we provide other than locations and cast/crew calls.

What do you consider to be a unique location in your jurisdiction?
Being the second largest city in New Mexico, we offer a wide variety of neighborhood looks from post war architecture to Anywhere, America. Getting more specific, the vacant Doña Ana County Courthouse is one of our most unique locations. This building is incredibly unique and offers an abandoned prison facility, along with a rooftop view of all of Las Cruces.

Favorite movie or tv show?
You can ask me this question any day of the week and I will probably have a different answer each time. Right now I'd say it's a toss up between 127 Hours and Only the Brave. I enjoy watching a film based on a true story that is able to capture the most beautiful landscape in such a terrifying way.
