Volunteer of the Month
Pastor Wilbur Day
Pastor Day has been the pastor at Brown Street Church of God in Christ for 17 years and a resident of Springfield his entire life. He has been married to Florence for 23 years and together they have five children. Pastor Day blesses our Emergency Shelter in many ways. On Tuesdays he comes and extends an invitation to our ladies to join a bible study held at his church and then on the first Monday of each month, he offers a bible study in our Emergency Shelter. Pastor Day, along with the help of his congregation, provides a quarterly dinner meal and fellowships with our families. Our women and children look forward to these monthly visits.

Thank you Pastor Day and Brown Street Church of God in Christ for your commitment to Contact Ministries.

NOVEMBER EVENTS....

THANKSGIVING BASKET GIVE-AWAY

We are blessed to partner with Temple B'rith Sholom and First Congregational Church to give out Thanksgiving baskets full of everything needed to prepare a complete meal to 50 families. Also, special thanks to Mike "Cowboy" Ryan and Jeff Raes. Mike arranges a truck and driver from Hiller Storage and Moving Company to get the baskets transported for distribution. Jeff works with Christ the King's 7 th grade boys basketball team to lift and carry all of the baskets for our clients. They are literally the hands and feet of Christ.

Thank you for your faithful help and support in providing Thanksgiving baskets to our families.

Sid Wood
Memorial Toy Run

This year marked the 34 th Annual Sid Wood Toy Run. Over 120 motorcycle enthusiasts enjoyed a beautiful day to ride for a good cause. All of the food and toys collected will be given at our Annual Christmas Giveaway. Leroy Solomon and Gary Underfanger started the "the oldest and the coldest" motorcycle ride to remember their friend and former Contact Ministries board member Sid Wood.

Thank you for your annual dedication to honor Sid and fulfill the wishes of the children receiving these toys.

KIDS GIVING BACK...

Halloween trick-or-treating is usually about candy but this year Mike Johnson and his girls gathered much needed items for the women and children living in our shelters. Your example of selflessness is beautiful!
