Review of comments on Centers Framework proposal

Board members discussed public comments received on the draft centers framework proposal. Staff briefed the board on the substance of the comments and options for responding and incorporating the comments into a final proposal. Discussion focused on different aspects of the centers framework, including:
  • Requirements for centers to have adopted subarea plans
  • Standards for redesignation of existing centers
  • Density requirements for countywide centers
  • Minimum criteria for countywide industrial centers
  • Mix of uses within centers
The board asked for additional information on some issues and will continue work on the centers framework at its meeting in January.  More information, including the comment letters, can be found on the Centers Framework project page.
