Applying for Senior Membership is quick and easy and should
only take a few minutes of your time!!!!
How to become a Senior Member:

The following procedure outlines the recommended steps to guide you through the Senior MemberApplication process.
  • Complete and Submit Your Application Form

Electronic forms, instructions and other details can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/web/membership/senior-members/index.html

  • Submit Your Resume or CV
Although a resume is not a strict requirement to be considered for  Senior Member grade, it is strongly recommended that you provide one. The resume will assist the Review Panel  members in ascertaining that you meet the requirements for  Senior Member. In particular, your resume should highlight those areas of your experience that go towards meeting the requirement for 5 years of Significant Performance. Resumes should also include the relevant dates of your professional and educational experience. Dates are important in order to determine that you do, in fact, have the required ten years of professional experience and/or 5 years of Significant Performance.

Author Instructions for Contributed and 1 Page Papers

C ontributed Papers-Full are presented either as an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The type of presentation will be determined by the Conference Editorial Board based on factors such as the reviewer's suggestions and topic of the paper. All presented and contributed papers will be published in IEEE Xplore and indexed by PubMed and Medline.

At least one author of the paper must be registered at the appropriate full conference rate (Member, Non-member, Student member, Student non-member) in order to upload the final paper. If complete payment of a registration fee is not received, authors will not be able to proceed with uploading their final manuscript. While any author of the paper may be registered, only the designated "corresponding author" may upload the final paper. Once a manuscript has been uploaded, the registration fees cannot be refunded. CALL FOR DEMO/POSTER ABSTRACTS - IEEE BSN 2018
IEEE International Conference on Wearable and
Implantable Body Sensor Networks
DEADLINE to submit 1 page and poster abstracts is Friday, 22, December 2017
The IEEE International Conference on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN) 2018 is the 15th in a series of annual conferences sponsored by IEEE EMBS dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of sensor-exploiting medical/healthcare systems and networking. IEEE BSN18 will be co-located with the HIMSS2018 (Health Information Management Systems Society Annual Conference) and the IEEE BHI2018 (IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics) in Las Vegas, March 4-7, 2018. The joint program will have world-renowned speakers from research institutes, government agencies, and industry. More than a thousand attendees are expected in this leading event for healthcare and medical technologies.
Applications are open for the next edition of the flagship summer school of EMBS! Founder in 1994, the IEEE EMBS International Summer School on Biomedical Imaging has become over the year the worldwide reference in the field and is proud to have now around 500 alumni.

It is resolutely international (around 45 participants from more than twenty countries have participated to the previous editions) and accessible to young scientists. It is an open yet privileged place for exchanges and discussions of major on-going work. Informal and warm, at a location where the sea and the land combine in a time varying relation, this school brings together, every two years for ten days, the world great teachers and researchers in Biomedical Imaging. The participants are PhDs, post-doctoral students, engineers from industry, and already involved in some area of biomedical imaging.

The IEEE SMC 2018 8th Workshop on Brain-Machine Interface Systems (BMI) will be held on October 7-10, 2018 in Miyazaki, Japan as part of the program of SMC 2018 - the flagship annual conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. The workshop is organized by the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Brain-Machine Interfaces Systems and is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Brain Initiative. The theme of this year's workshop is:  Innovations in Systems, (hu)Man, and Cybernetics, and their Interplay as the Driving Forces for Next-Generation BMI Systems.

Testing the Waters
Water on Earth-in our oceans, rivers, lakes, and wetlands-might seem plentiful, but water that is clean and safe enough to drink actually isn't so abundant. Nearly one in ten people still lack access to safe water worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Moreover, access to clean drinking water isn't just a problem in the developing world; groundwater in developed countries is typically used far more quickly than it is being replenished. As the world population rises, growing numbers of thirsty people could exacerbate already-scant resources. In response to these challenges, scientists, researchers, and companies are working on ways of delivering clean and safe water to more people-ranging from large-scale and sophisticated reverse- osmosis machines that can produce great quantities of water in places where water supplies are low but the ocean is nearby to lower-tech options that allow individual households to eliminate from their water bacteria related to diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio. Technologies using easily accessible, low-cost, natural materials have been the focus for many companies seeking to solve the world's water problem.
