Things are changing and that's a good thing!

The weather is getting cooler, family and friends are planning holiday cheer, and our Tweens and Teens are full swing into academic offerings.

In this state of constant change, motion, and demand there is also a need for centering, regrouping, and learning ways to connect meaningfully with others.

The Art in Therapy recognizes a person's human need for meaningful social connectedness through shared group experiences, so we've created a way to offer the Group Art Therapy experience in a warm and inviting environment.

They are happy to announce two new groups and the continuation of two already established groups at  The Art in Therapy.

Each Art Therapy Group is designed to meet the emotional needs of the group while being structured to meet the individual needs of each person by remaining small in group member size.

This is what's new for Winter 2017-2018!

Broadfoot and Broadfoot Presents  Their
New Show: Color Rhymes

Showing the paintings of Carole McDermott  and Helene Mukhtar  as well as the video installations of Helene Mukhtar. They invite you to visit the gallery for our new show. These stunning works are on display until  November 26  in our Boonton gallery.

COLOR RHYTHMS  present the work of two New York City artists who express - each in her own way - the same energy, passion and a love of life and color. At the same time, both painters favor quite different painting styles and techniques.

As a painter, Helene Mukhtar uses acrylic paint and indulges in
expressionist, abstract brush strokes and explosive colors and forms. She also creates computer animations mostly inspired by her painted work. For this exhibition, she presents a colorful, multi-media installation which combines, paintings, animations and video sculptures. Her action-packed animations are the fusion of abstract computer-generated designs, live videos, sections of her paintings and frame by frame computer drawing rotoscoping techniques.

Carole McDermott works with oil on canvas. This traditional method of painting is contrasted with a contemporary, abstract paint delivery. She employs depth and atmosphere to convey her unique views of nature. When speaking about her work, Carole says "I have no message in my paintings other than to communicate a feeling or a sensation. I paint to know we're not alone. The viewer can relate with his or her feelings and share the wonder."
