The 60 th  NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 5, will be streamed live on ESPN3, starting at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Annual Awards Press Conference will also stream live that day on ESPN3, with the College Football Hall of Fame inductees at 10 a.m. ET and the NFF Campbell Trophy ®  Finalists at 11 a.m. ET.

As the culmination of the 2017 regular season, the 60 th  NFF Annual Awards Dinner provides the stage for the induction of the 2017 College Football Hall of Fame Class; the awarding of the 2017 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Fidelity Investments; the announcement of the winner of the 28 th  William V. Campbell Trophy ® , presented by Fidelity Investments and prominently showcased at its official home inside the New York Athletic Club; and the presentation of several major awards.

The NFF is celebrating its 70 th  anniversary  by highlighting the key milestones of each decade in a weekly email with the content also promoted in its social media channels. The campaign takes a year-by-year look at some of the key events that have shaped the organization, distributing seven weekly releases covering each of the NFF's 10-year periods.

I'm A Football Player
As part of its "I'm A Football Player®" initiative, the NFF is producing a series of graphics to be distributed through social media every Tuesday and Thursday this fall, highlighting former college football players that have experienced success off the field. From Fortune 500 CEOs, to lawyers and doctors, to coaches and teachers and all other walks of life, our goal is to showcase everyone who has benefited from the game of football, sharing their stories across the nation.

This is  the final week to nominate a high school coach for the "Coaches Making a Difference" contest , an initiative by the Rose Bowl Game® presented by Northwestern Mutual in conjunction with the National Football Foundation. 

Through Monday, December 4 , individuals can nominate a high school coach that has made a difference in the lives of student-athletes in their community. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to the "Granddaddy of Them All," the Rose Bowl Game, on January 1, 2018. This year's game will play host to a College Football Playoff Semifinal and feature two of the top teams in college football.

Coaches can be nominated for the contest by filling out a nomination form  online . A panel of representatives from the Tournament of Roses and the National Football Foundation will select the six winners which will include one grand prize winner and five finalist winners.

Six finalists and a grand prize winner will be announced at 12 p.m. PT on December 8.
Clemson claimed the No. 1 ranking with 31-of-48 first-place votes in the Week 13 FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll. Oklahoma, Auburn, Wisconsin and Alabama  round out the top five in the poll, in which voters rank the top 16 FBS teams.
 
The results of the poll will be released every Sunday of the 2017 season and the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The final poll will be released Dec. 3. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers.

The Home Depot College Football AwardsDec. 7: Twenty-seven finalists have been named for nine National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) honors to be handed out at The Home Depot College Football Awards live from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Hosted by Lee Corso, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Hall of Famer Desmond Howard (Michigan), Tom Rinaldi and Maria Taylor, the annual awards show recognizes the accomplishments of college football student-athletes during the 2017 season. The winner of the 2017 NFF William V. Campbell Trophy ®, who will be announced at the NFF Annual Awards Dinner in New York City on Dec. 5, will be honored during the awards show at the Hall.

Deck the Hall, Dec. 16 - Jan. 2: We're decking the Hall this holiday season, kicking off the most wonderful time of the year with activities, treats and holiday decorations. The Hall will be decked out with holiday decorations with daily activities and special appearances by our very own Fumbles the Elf. If you are still in need of the perfect family photo for the holidays, Santa will visit the Hall on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

College Football Hall of Fame Salute to the 2017 Class, Dec. 31: Join the Hall as it celebrates members of the Hall's newest class on New Year's Eve by presenting each inductee with a commemorative glass blade in recognition of their achievements. NFF Board Member and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will be a featured interview during the SportsBusiness Journal's Dealmakers in Sports conference Nov. 29 in New York City.

2017 College Football Hall of Fame electee Adrian Peterson will address the graduating class of Fall 2017 during Georgia Southern's annual commencement ceremony on Dec. 8.

Family, friends and former teammates congratulated Matt Leinart (Southern California) on his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in a special video that aired on FOX.

College Football Hall of Fame coach Gene Stallings (Texas A&M, Alabama), Hall of Famer and 1996 Campbell Trophy® winner Danny Wuerffel (Florida), Hall of Famer and 1970 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Dave Elmendorf (Texas A&M) and 2005 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Brad Smith (Missouri) are part of the 2017 SEC Football Legends Class. The class will be honored at the 2017 SEC Football "Weekend of Champions" Dec. 1-2 in Atlanta.

College Football Hall of Famers Bennie Blades (Miami [Fla.]) and Jimbo Covert (Pittsburgh) will be honored as part of the 2017 ACC Football Legends Class during the ACC Night of Legends at the Charlotte Convention Center, on Friday, Dec. 1, and during the on-field pregame festivities at the 13th annual ACC Football Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 2, in Charlotte, N.C.

2017 College Football Hall of Fame electee Brian Urlacher (New Mexico); College Football Hall of Famer and 1994 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Tony Boselli (Southern California); and College Football Hall of Fame coaches Don Coryell and Jimmy Johnson are among the 27 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2018.

College Football Hall of Famer Ross Browner (Notre Dame)  was named  the recipient of the 2017 Bronko Nagurski Legends Award, which recognizes outstanding defensive football players from the past 40 years. The award will be presented formally during the annual Bronko Nagurski Trophy Awards Banquet on Dec. 4.

2004 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Jim Leonhard (Wisconsin), now the Badgers' Defensive Coordinator, was named one of five finalists for the 2017 Broyles Award, which honors college football's top assistant coach. 

2016 NFF Chris Schenkel Award recipient Bob Rondeau called his last game as the radio voice of Washington football from Husky Stadium during its win over Washington State in the Apple Cup. He is retiring after the Huskies' bowl game. During a break between the first and second quarters, a video tribute to Rondeau was aired on the Husky Stadium videoboard. Fans in the lower level in nine sections then held up cards that spelled out "Thanks Bob," which was followed by a standing ovation. Before the game, Washington gave away 10,000 bobbleheads featuring Rondeau's likeness and a recording of his signature call, "Touchdown, Washington."

2017 NFF Chapter Scholar-Athlete Brandon Micale and San Diego knocked off No. 25 ranked Northern Arizona, 41-10, in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs. The Toreros will play at the No. 2 seed North Dakota State this Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN3.


2017 NFF National Scholar-Athlete/Campbell Trophy® Finalist Updates
All FBS rankings below reflect the Week 10 FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll

Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) running back Sam Benger  was named a First Team All-University Athletic Association selection.

Miami (Fla.) wide receiver Braxton Berrios led the team with four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Pittsburgh. He leads the Hurricanes with 45 catches for 583 receiving yards and he is tied for most in the ACC with nine touchdown receptions. Berrios was named to the All-ACC Third Team as a wide receiver and earned Honorable Mention recognition for his contributions as a special teams player. The No. 7 Hurricanes will travel to Charlotte, N.C., to play No. 1 Clemson in the ACC Championship Game this Saturday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Center Mason Hampton helped Boise State gain 401 yards of total offense in a loss at Fresno State. The two teams will face each other once again this Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Mountain West Championship Game in Boise, Idaho. The game will kick off at 7:45 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Northwestern running back Justin Jackson  rushed 18 times for 144 yards and a touchdown as the Wildcats defeated Illinois, 42-7, to claim the Land of Lincoln Trophy for the third consecutive year. The game marked the 26th time he surpassed 100 yards, and his touchdown was the 39th of his career, making him the program's all-time leader for career rushing touchdowns. Jackson also moved past Wisconsin's Montee Ball (5,140) for fourth in Big Ten history with 5,283 career rushing yards, and he now sits 11th on the FBS career list. The Wildcats finished the regular season 9-3 and will find out their bowl game  on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Linebacker Micah Kiser  led Virginia with 19 tackles, including 1.5 TFL, in a loss to Virginia Tech With a career-high 19 tackles, Kiser recorded his 20th career double-digit tackle game in 36 starts, and he now ranks No. 5 all-time at Virginia with 400 career tackles. He also moved into a tie for No. 11 all-time at Virginia with 32.5 career tackles for loss. Kiser was named to the All-ACC First Team for the third consecutive season. He currently leads the ACC and is third in the nation with 134 tackles this year. The Cavaliers now await their first bowl destination since 2011.

After earning a first round bye in the FCS Playoffs, offensive lineman Justin Lea and No. 3 seed Jacksonville State will host Kennesaw State this Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN3.  

Center Brad Lundblade helped Oklahoma State outgain Kansas by 420 yards in a 58-17 victory on Senior Day. This year, he has blocked for the Cowboys as they became the only team in Big 12 history to have a 4,000-yard passer, two 1,000-yard receivers and a 1,000-yard rusher in the same season. Lundblade and the Oklahoma State offense now lead the FBS with 392.3 passing yards per game, are second with 575.7 total yards per game and rank third with 46.3 points per game. The 9-3 Cowboys will now await their bowl destination.  

Defensive back Chandon Sullivan had four tackles and one interception in Georgia State's loss to Appalachian State.  Georgia State (6-4, 5-2 Sun Belt) is now one game behind Appalachian State, Troy and Arkansas State in the conference standings with one game to play. Sullivan and the Panthers will finish the regular season this Saturday, Dec. 2, when they host Idaho at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

Cornerback Blaise Taylor  recorded two tackles and sealed Arkansas State's win over Louisiana-Monroe with his 85-yard interception return for a touchdown that set the final score at 67-50 . He also recorded a pass break-up, giving him a Sun Belt Conference record 34 career passes defended. His 14.1  punt return average still leads the Sun Belt and is fourth nationally. Arkansas State will play Troy this Saturday, Dec. 2, for at least a share of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference title. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Linebacker Chris Weber had seven tackles, including one TFL, in Nebraska's loss to Iowa. Weber ends the year as the Huskers' leading tackler with 95 this season, and he is tied for second with nine tackles for loss and five pass breakups. 

South Dakota State wide receiver Jake Wieneke was named a First Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection for the fourth time in his career. He is now the first player in program history to earn all-conference recognition in each of his four seasons. After earning a first round bye in the FCS Playoffs, the No. 5 seed Jackrabbits will host Northern Iowa this Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
