SBA ALUMNAE LEADERSHIP MEETING
Our thanks to the SBA Alumnae who attended the first SBA Alumnae Leadership Meeting at the Union League of Philadelphia. It was a pleasure to gather and discuss the vision of Saint Basil Academy as we look to the future.
TOYS FOR TOTS
SBA Cares hosted a Christmas kick off dress down day last Friday to raise funds for Toys for Tots. Our thanks to all who contributed!

Our thanks to Michael Haritan, photojournalist, who presented information to SBA students about the devastation from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Ukraine.
SOPHOMORE RETREAT
On Tuesday, December 5, the Sophomores enjoyed their retreat at the Basilian Spirituality Center. The theme of the day was "Striving for Sainthood". Students had a full day of singing, Bible study, quiet time, Liturgy, and hearing from Father Peter Waslo. It was a wonderful day of prayer and class bonding, a great way to kick off the Advent season!
THE FEAST OF SAINT NICHOLAS
SBA Administration, faculty, staff and students gathered on Wednesday morning for the tradition of our Saint Nicholas Day Divine Liturgy.

Students from the Music Academy, Choir/Madrigals, Chamber Music, Piano
and Voice Classes entertained the SBA community during lunch on Thursday with
holiday music to help start this magical season!
FACULTY RECOGNITION
Congratulations to our music teacher, Thomas Meany, for being inducted into the Musical Fund Society of Philadelphia! The Musical Fund Society was established in 1820 and is the oldest continuing musical organization in the United States. Members represent an unusual cross-section of professional musicians from the Philadelphia area.
