Happy Thanksgiving!
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving and there will be no school on Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th. Being a short week, we'll not be sending a Falcon Focus on the 24th but will send a regular Friday edition on December 1st.
There are a couple of wonderful events that take place here in Fountain Hills on Thanksgiving, including the 27th Annual Turkey Trot, sponsored by the Town. Here's a link to more information:
27th Annual Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot is open to everyone from competitive racers to weekend warriors to casual walkers and is a great way to add a side of exercise and fitness to a main course of turkey and dressing.
Another Fountain Hills tradition is the Annual Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year's theme is "Winter in the Southwest" and the start time is 9:00 AM on Thursday. Several school clubs will be participating as well as the always entertaining Fighting Flock of Falcon Fury. Here's a link for more information regarding the parade:
2017 Thanksgiving Day Parade.
McDowell Mountain Elementary School will be hosting Grandperson's Day on Tuesday the 21st so be sure to open their newsletter for more details. The schools will otherwise be "business as usual" next week before closing for Thanksgiving. Here's hoping everyone has time to reflect, relax, and truly give thanks for the many blessings we all have.
Kind Regards,
Patrick Sweeney, Ed.D.
