A great way to say goodbye to your senior is to create a senior salute for him or her. You can send in pictures of your senior when he or she was little as well as recent photos! You can include a written message, as well. Seniors may also purchase a salute with friends or with people from sports or clubs! Senior salutes are so important because they offer a special way your senior will remembered in the 2017-18 yearbook. Buy one now, before Wednesday January 10, 2018.

ACT Prep Session
: There is still room for anyone interested in participating in the Before/After School ACT Prep Session starting Monday, November 27 at 4:15 pm. Please come into the Counseling Office to get a complete schedule and registration sheet.

SENIORS interested in being nominated for the
MSBA FutureBuilders John T. Belcher scholarship must complete the application found on the RBHS --> Counseling --> Scholarship webpage and return it to Mrs. Reed in the counseling office by Monday, Nov. 27th. Applications will be sent to the Board of Education for review. The Board will then select one student to apply for the scholarship. Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay. A $1000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA's 17 regions. A statewide winner is selected from this group of regional winners and awarded an additional $1,500.

Bruins, BE KIND! Each week I would like to challenge students to complete a step toward making Rock Bridge High the kindest, most compassionate and inclusive school in town! This week the challenge is: do something to support others. IDEA: For National Homeless Awareness Month this November, help me support homeless youth by donating to the Columbia, MO Rainbow House. A bin will be in the Counseling Office in which you can drop off items from their wish list below. Thank YOU -Ms. Thalhuber

Rainbow House Homeless Youth Program Wish List: Baby Wipes, Dish Scrubbers, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Antibacterial Spray Cleaners, 13 gallon trash bags, bottled water, clear storage containers (large with lids), Lysol/Clorox wipes, mop cleaning solution, latex gloves, laundry soap, dish soap, dishwasher tablets/powder, play doh.
- JUNIORS planning on attending an accredited college/university in the US after high school should apply for the Coolidge Scholarship Program. The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student's tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Sophomores - the 2018 Hoby State Leadership Seminar will be held June 15-17, 2018 in Cape Girardeau, MO. Hoby's State Leadership Seminar empowers high school sophomores to develop their leadership talents to become the leaders of their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society. Interested students should exhibit strong leadership skills/experience, outstanding communication skills, creative problem solving, sensitivity to the needs or concerns of others, courage to speak out for one's beliefs, and participation in community service activities. If you are interested in being nominated for the 2018 Hoby State Leadership Seminar, please write a short response to the following prompt: "In 75 to 100 words, please describe the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community" and submit your writing to Mrs. Reed in the Counseling Office by Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

RBHS Booster Announcements
The Bruin Booster Club promotes school spirit & provides programs & financial support to the athletic teams & student-athletes of Rock Bridge High School (RBHS). Since 2003, the Booster Club has raised & allocated a significant amount of funds to benefit the Bruin athletic programs. Those who purchase a Booster Club membership will receive a pass (or passes) to attend all home athletic contests in all seasons. All money raised through membership dues stays at RBHS to support our student athletes, plus the pass can be less expensive than purchasing individual game tickets throughout a season.
