Family Fun is a Universal Language

Dallastown Area School District hosted its inaugural Language Instructional Education Program (LIEP) Family Fall Fest at Ore Valley Elementary School recently.

Fifty-five students and families played math games, read books, and decorated pumpkins, then took home bags filled with homework tools, math games boards, and reading books. The Kaltreider-Benfer Library and York County Literacy Council attended and shared community resources with the English Learner families.

The LIEP Family Fall Fest allowed students, teachers, and families to establish positive, collaborative relationships, while learning about school programs and developing cooperative strategies for home. We extend a great big Wildcat thank you to all of the families in attendance--a fun time was had by all!
