John C. Robinson is
Father of the Tuskegee Airmen
Annie Turnbo  Malone, founder of the Black Hair Industry, had a personal pilot, John C. Robinson (known as the Brown Bomber and Father of the Tuskegee Airmen), who flew her around the country and he also started an aviation school at Poro College in Chicago.  Mr. Robinson certainly has a story of his own that needs to be told.

The "Brown Condor" was born John Charles Robinson in 1903, Florida. His family relocated to Gulfport, Mississippi and at age seven he spotted his first aircraft, a float plane. He became understandably excited, but his mother countered with, "a Black man has no business fooling around with airplanes."

Undeterred, similar to female aviator Bessie Coleman, John Charles Robinson would not let a family member's sentiments prevent him from eventually pursuing his dream. Robinson focused his efforts on doing well academically in school. He worked hard to pay for college tuition at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama. He attended the HBCU to become an automobile mechanic, after realizing the increasing importance of cars in everyday life. Robinson wisely left Mississippi for Detroit, home of the major American Automakers.

Robinson ran into a "barnstormer" who had airplane engine troubles.  Robinson transferred his automotive mechanical skills into repairing the barnstormer's airplane engine. Another young man helped Robinson with his flying lessons. But Robinson needed to attend aviation school in order to obtain his pilot's license. However, he was denied entrance to a Chicago's Curtiss Wright Aviation School because of his race. He then ingeniously became the school's janitor where he was able to eavesdrop on the classes he needed to obtain his pilot's license!  Robinson still maintained a full-time job as an auto mechanic. An instructor was impressed with him and persuaded the school to allow him to enroll.

Robinson built his own plane, started his own flying school for African Americans, and helped create a Black airport when airports refused to refuel his plane. He also pushed for an aviation program at his alma mater Tuskegee Institute to train other Black pilots who would later be known as "The Tuskegee Airmen. "The Red Tails" Squadron played an important role in escorting American fighter planes in World War II.

As if these feats were not enough, Robinson was personally invited by Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie to lead the Imperial Ethiopian Air Corps as a colonel and commander. Robinson fought fascism in 1935 when Italy's Mussolini attacked this African nation. As commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, Robinson and his group of pilots and ground crew were responsible for dispatching critical information from the front lines to the capital in Addis Ababa. They served in dangerous missions and "witnessed Italian aircraft spraying mustard gas on thousands of Ethiopian ground troops." Italy briefly conquered Ethiopia. Robinson who was twice wounded and gassed, returned home a hero.

The Chicago Defender wrote, "There was never been such a demonstration as was accorded the thirty-one year old Chicago aviator who left the United States thirteen months ago and literally covered himself in glory trying to preserve the independence of the last African Empire. There are reports that he will be joining the faculty of Tuskegee Institute to teach aviation."

After WWII, Robinson was invited back to helm Ethiopian Airlines. He died at age 51. There is a museum exhibit in his honor in Mississippi. "The Brown Condor's" inspiring story was researched painstakingly for over twenty years by author Thomas E. Simmons.

John C. Robinson represents an individual who would not take no for an answer. He did not get discouraged and focused his energies on achieving his dreams. His indomitable spirit ushered in an era of little-known but brave military African American pilots.

* Haile Selassie I was emperor of Ethiopia from 1930-1974. He was the last 225 monarchs of a ruling dynasty that is said to have descended from the son of King Solomon and Queen Sheba. Selassie helped modernized the country, traveled abroad and joined the League of Nations. The ruler went to the League of Nations to protest the Italian occupation of his country. He was named Time Magazine's "Man of the Year" in 1936. Haile Selassie's reign ended after famine and unemployment overtook Ethiopia in 1974. He died in 1975, and his remains were found in 1992. The cause of death was ruled a strangulation.

How to save an unreceptive and divided people that have identical problems, with completely different interest!

The problem is group regression and poverty; the solution is group unity, with trust in group economics. To Fake it until you make it, was not created for poor---- folks but rather by lady Despair (Coulterism), for actors and actresses. It doesn't mean success depends on how good we are at being a fake, but how blacks have come to this place where we agree or disagree with personalities rather than the substance of the issues in question, is without rationality. And now we have to understand how to deal with those blacks on black Segregationist (your color but not your kind of persons) who have never understood how they are any other black, have ever experienced racism. They're not unlike so many other (Casonism) blacks who are dying daily on our cities streets, because of fake courage and confusion, because they're not smart enough to be black, scared and safe. They've sold out, to get out the hood and reality. They run so hard to get out of poverty, they fail to reach back and uncover their legends and hidden treasures in the hoods. It's sad, most blacks can't look in the mirror and say I'm black and I'm pride and truly mean it. They fear being called weird, crazy or racist by some other black person!

To the readers, I ask, does black life matters to you? We live in a time where one of the most evil and racist groups on earth has opened its membership to its most hated adversary, the Black man. The KKK now understands no group on earth hates blacks more than blacks! This is evils (By any name) and the greatest achievement of modern times in the name of religion, business and politics. How is it that black life matters when every Blvd. or Street in America named after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a modern day icon. Have no investors black or white and is a street (Blvd) of poverty, black life matters really to whom?

Black Hair Designers Find New Wholesale

Outlet Through Indian Hair

Torain is famous for his multilingual, fluid explanations that are an invigorating experience in high-energy education. A noted author, teacher and internationally acclaimed demonstrator, Torain is credited with introducing the adhesive hair extension technique called "Fusion" to the mainstream market.

Below is an excerpt of the editorial by Torain and the Hair Spy.  Click here to be directed to the BOBSA website to read the entire article.

Since the beginning of the astronomical sales of the human hair trade, there has been a conspiracy to prevent black hair designers from purchasing human hair at wholesale prices. Even though black people are virtually the exclusive consumers, stylists and trades people of this commodity, they are never the less controlled in the hair trade, even though it is virtually the exclusive domain of black people. The expression "It's a Black Thing" has never been as true as in the case of commercial hair. Every nickel of this huge financial fortune comes from the members of the Black race.

Imagine if the bulk of all this cash, that is estimated to be considerably close to above one hundred billion dollars, were to be infused into the black race at the blue collar level that the hair designers/salon owners are considered to be. There would be enough revenue to ensure greater educational opportunities and chances to offer a tremendously larger exposure to all the things that will increase the chances of our children to gain a higher status in the future. We (the Black cosmetologists) own more businesses in our field than any other commercial enterprise of our race. We train many people in the lucrative and rewarding industry that we are in and provide for our families in an admirable manner.

As a result of this, other ethnic merchants have brought in virtually all of the hair in the United States and have conspired through very stringent dictates to their people to prevent Black people from acquiring hair directly from the Asian manufacturers (mainly in China) that dominated just about every single piece of commercial hair sold to the Black people in this country, the Caribbean, Europe and the entire continent of Africa. These many billions of dollars represent a truly massive amount that is rivaled only by those brokerage firms that trade on world financial organizations like the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and The London Stock Exchange. What is strange about this is that the entire funds of this industry are generated by Black people around the world and yet they are receiving absolutely no part of the massive financial fortune tied up in the import/export of commercial hair.

Torain is one of the many other people that are engaged in the international hair trade and is considered a fountain of information. His email address is torainfusionhair@aol.com.

Mr. Charles Edward Ennon was known as one who took great pleasure in sharing his knowledge of history and points of view with whomever he could.

Mr. Ennon was born on September 14, 1944 in Vicksburg, MS. Following his high school graduation, he worked at Papert, Koenig and Lois Advertising Agency until he enlisted in the US Naval Reserves from 1965 until 1971.  Mr. Ennon prepared himself through education by attending the New York City Community College and completed courses in Accounting, Business Law and Psychology. Prior to his discharge from the US Naval Reserve, he completed a course in Automatic Data Processing at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He earned a degree in Business and Economics in 1975 from Fordham University in New York, NY.

1971 was a good year for Mr. Ennon because he met and married his loving wife of forty-three years, Mary E. Mintz.  They became parents to their son Calvin Johnson Ennon in 1983.

An avid reader and researcher of history, especially African American History, Mr. Ennon's favorite pastime was spent canvassing the internet for information or watching the History Channel. His students enjoyed having him as their substitute teacher because they appreciated hearing his stories about African American history and discussing the many countries he visited while serving in the Navy.

Mr. Ennon was an active member of the Anthropos group of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa.  He served as president for ten years.  This educational organization conducted various activities to assist the chapter in the development of the potential of our youth, promoting educational tours, and raising funds for scholarships. The show is set to launch on its own site www.thewholewoman.tv beginning the 24th March at 12:00 noon. The show's host Regina Whylly is a seasoned Journalist who has worked for The Tribune, the leading newspaper in the Bahamas, as well as she has hosted her own radio show by the same name (The Whole Woman) on the leading gospel station in the Bahamas Joy 101.9 fm.

As a journalist, Mrs. Whylly has always sort to use the power of the pen to help to improve the lives of women, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially, through the articles she writes. In addition, she worked hard to make sure that the guest she has invited on her radio show in the past provided information that made the lives of the listeners better.  In like manner, she did the same with the guest she invited to be on her television show "The Whole Woman", that originally aired on the leading television station in the Bahamas ZNS Channel 11 and I am sure she will do the same with her up coming online show.

According to Mrs. Whylly, "With the ever-growing technology of today, it almost same criminal not to place the show online where not just viewers in The Bahamas are able to enjoy it but persons from all around the world would have the same opportunity to view and enjoy the show".
"I am excited about the opportunity that this now afford persons outside of the Bahamas, the ability to advertise to the viewers inside the Bahamas that they would not ordinarily be able to reach and vice versa", she added.
She went on to say that because of the way the world is changing, it is so easy for persons to see something on the show and once the individual has a website, the viewer can go on that site and make a purchase in a matter of minutes.

The mother of two has always had a love for empowering women in every area of their lives, she takes every opportunity to speak to large groups of women on topics such as "You are Enough", Self Esteem, Knowing Your Worth",  "The Importance of Being Whole For Yourself" and others.
She said that as women, we have a habit of taking care of everyone except ourselves but she said, the truth is that this is the wrong way around, simply because if you are not whole for yourself, you cannot be the part you are meant to be for others.

"Knowing who you are, loving yourself, loving others, laughing out loud when the occasion arises, taking care of your health, looking pretty and feeling good about where you are in your life, are all important things that make you know that you are alive and whole", she laughed.
She confessed, "I laugh a lot, I tell my children, my family and friends that I love them every chance I get and when I say it I mean it and when I say it, it makes me feel great".

In speaking with Mrs. Whylly, it is clear to see that she is genuine and determined about the way she lives her life, in some ways, her joy and enthusiasm almost seem contagious.  "I look at my life and I have so much to be happy about, I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, The Bahamas, we have sun almost year round and what we call cold, the tourist that visit our shores think is funny.  The fact that you are alive on any given day, is an amazing day, just know that the issues that come at you, you choose how you will deal with them and you have the choice to remain happy no matter what comes your way", she concluded.

When I said contagious I meant it, so much so that I know, as you watch the show, you will be encouraged, empowered and made to feel happy, simply because I know that Regina will do her best to make sure of it.
