 As a school, we filled 24 boxes for Operation Christmas Child! Praise God! THANK YOU for the part you played in bringing the love of Jesus to children all over the world. Please be praying for those children that receive the boxes; that they would experience the saving power of Jesus Christ in their lives.

Current Family Pre-K Enrollment Open on Monday, November 27

Monday, November 27 has been set aside as the day for current Heritage families to enroll their child in next year's pre-kindergarten classes. Heritage families are given priority; however, as the demand from the community is rapidly increasing, enrollment will open to the public November 28, so please do not delay. Stop by the office to pick up an enrollment packet. The application can also be found on our website or by clicking
here. Parents wishing to enroll a child need to submit the following:

3. Payment of the non-refundable $40 application fee.
If you plan to have your child do a second year of Pre-K, you do not need to fill out the paperwork again; simply let Kathy Schallau ([email protected]) in the office know!

Attendance Policy Reminder
|
If your student is going to be absent for any reason, please make sure to inform the office by either a phone call or emailing [email protected] by 8:30am. It's helpful to also copy your child's teacher on the email so everyone is on the same page.
|
Be sure to stop by our Lost and Found table next week when you're here for Parent Teacher Conferences and see if you recognize any of your child's clothing. Any unclaimed items will be taken to Goodwill or disposed of after Thanksgiving

H.A.N.D.S. Open Gym Night - Friday, Dec 8
|
Heritage H.A.N.D.S. is hosting an Open Gym night at Heritage on Friday, December 8 from 6:00-8:00pm. Come when you can and let the kids play, enjoy some popcorn and socializing with other Heritage families!

You may not want to think about it but once we return from Thanksgiving break, December will be right around the corner. Just a reminder of a few items as we anticipate the possibility of snow and cold temperatures:
- NEW THIS YEAR: A text message via Parent Alert will be sent out to inform of a school closure or delay. If you do not currently receive these messages and would like to, please contact Brenda Wichhart with your cell phone information.
- When checking for closures/delays on local media, please look specifically for information on Heritage Christian School. While our decisions are often the same as Iowa City School District and Clear Creek Amana, they are not ALWAYS the same.
- Decisions to delay or cancel will be made no later than 6:30 AM. If it is determined that a late start is necessary, please continue to watch the news. If weather conditions do not improve, school will be cancelled by 8:30 AM.
- In the event of early dismissal due to weather or other emergency, parents will be notified through a text message via Parent Alert.
- Please make attendance decisions you are comfortable with. If you are concerned about traveling when driving conditions are poor or it is brutally cold, please make personal decisions accordingly.
- With a delayed start, please arrive between 9:45-9:55am. Classes will begin at 10:00am.
- When driving conditions are poor and school IS in session, we will not count students tardy allowing parents necessary travel time.
- Heritage Christian School does not close for cold temperatures.
- Please check KCRG, KGAN, KWWL, local radio AM 800 and the Heritage Christian School Facebook page for inclement weather information.

Happy Thanksgiving! There will be no regular practices for basketball or cheerleading next week. We hope you all enjoy some time with friends and family. Have a great week!
We invite you all to the Eagles first Home basketball game of the season on Tuesday, November 28. The 5/6 Girls Basketball team will tip off at 4:30 pm and the 7/8 Boys Basketball team will end the night at 6:30 pm. We hope to see you there! Go Eagles!
