WHO IS JESUS?
A huge billboard caught my eye the other day while driving down the freeway: It read:
Who is Muhammad? Come find out at the Muslim Center of Irving.
But Muhammad isn't the only prophet that people should be curious about. After helping a woman draw water from a well, Jesus begin to tell her everything about her life. Astonished by what Jesus knew about her past and how he helped her in spite of her race, she went back to her village and asked the people to come see the man who might possibly be the long-awaited messiah. Curious about what she told them, they rushed to meet Jesus.
There are striking similarities between Muhammad and Jesus - both were great prophets, both were great teachers and both were supreme examples for their people. But herein the similarities end, for Jesus is the only prophet who died to save us from our sins. (John 3:16). So although people are curious today about the prophet Muhammad, the founder of a religion that is becoming more popular in the United States, may we never lose our curiosity about the man who is able to heal, save and deliver us from our sins. Who is Jesus? Come and see!
Sharing the word,
Jeaninne
Prayer: Lord, no matter how popular other religions become in our world today, may we always remember that you are the only way, the truth and the life. Amen.
