These aren't just regular Thanksgiving turkeys; second grade decorated their turkeys with math arrays as they begin to learn about the basics of multiplication and division! Happy Thanksgiving, Lake Pointe!

Annual Flag Football Games
Secondary students kicked off Thanksgiving break by playing America's favorite Thanksgiving day sport--football. Games were complete with student coaches and staff referees. 
 
Discovering LPA 
Administration, staff, and some LPA parents welcomed over a dozen new families to the campus for the first Discover LPA information meeting of the school year. From this first meeting, campus visits for new families are already being scheduled!

Battlefield Teachings 
 
The 8th grade history class finished their unit on the Civil War with each student teaching about one battle of the war. Each presentation focused on either a major battle or battle mentioned in Across Five April , a book about the Civil Was which they are currently reading for English class. 
 
 
 
 
   
LPA Olympics
5th grade history student were Olympians Thursday morning. Learning about the ancient Greek games in class, student planned and played in miniature Olympic style games such as archery, discus, and javelin throwing.
 
 
Learn Your Chemistry and Eat It, too
Chemistry student tasted the sweet side of their studies as they used chemical reactions to make homemade ice cream.
The Lake Pointe Basketball teams faced a tough competitor for their first game of the season. Though the teams lost, coaches were proud of the efforts and performance of the athletes. There will be a break from practice and games over Thanksgiving break, but the both both guys' team and both girls' team will have their first home game on the first Tuesday after break.
