Our on-air portion of our fall pledge drive has concluded, but the goal has yet to be reached. As we move into soft-sell mode, please consider becoming a member of community radio. If you're already a member, you might consider making an additional contribution to help ensure our continued financial health. We've come a long way over the years, and we're poised to make more giants strides into the future. We've got plans to update and upgrade all of the equipment necessary to carry out our mission of representing and serving our community. We've also got plans to add to our toolkit so we can bring the microphone to the people even more effectively and reliably than we ever have before. In order to do all that, we need to take care of what we've already got. Your contributions make it all possible. Thank you.


Meet and Eat

The fried chicken may be the real star of the show as we gather for our annual business meeting at the Provincetown Inn on Saturday November 18 at noon. The speeches will begin sometime after that, but everyone is welcome to come enjoy the delicious lunch provided by Angel Foods. We'll hear about the state of the organization from President Ira Wood and Executive Director John Braden; we'll single out a few of our volunteers in recognition of their do-goodery ; and we'll enjoy each other's company as we achieve a critical density of our members and volunteers that is all too rare in a business largely characterized by one person sitting in a studio alone with their music and a microphone. But mostly we'll enjoy the fried chicken. (Don't worry - there will be other options for those who feel differently.)
Groovalottos

Mwalim Daphunkee Professor and his merry band come to town on Saturday November 18th to light up the Davis Space at the Schoolhouse with their special brand of boisterousness. Celebrating their recent Grammy nomination and the release of their LP Ask Yo Mama, this is gonna be a party you won't want to miss.



Chocolate Num-Nums 

If you need a little incentive to make a donation to the station this time around, may we interest you in some of the finest confections you're ever likely to find? Chequessett Chocolate have been creating bean-to-bar delicacies in Truro for a few years now, and we'd say they've perfected their craft. Decide for yourself - make a donation of at least $60 and we'll gladly send you a sampler of their work. So good, it must be medicinal.


On The Air

Not too much to report for schedule changes this month, although Richard Rubino has taken his seasonal leave from Sounds of America on Thursday evenings. Steve Shervanian will do much of the duty filling in for Rich while he's away. Helene Watt and Rich Willecke are both away from their post on Wednesday afternoons. Gary Williams will be delivering your Wednesday afternoon jazz in their absence. Seasonal change has come to Sunday afternoons as well, with Jay Harrington taking over for Pandora on the 1-4pm shift. Pandora is still on every week with her Healing Wisdom talk show Thursdays at 9am, and you should definitely check out her recent interview with Underground Tom. It's an amazing example of the things we do that you won't find anywhere else.

If you or anyone you know would like to participate, we're always looking for folks to help make radio. We're especially keen to meet people with an interest in producing a talk show that would further our mission of covering the issues important in our community. Contact Matty to get started.
Out & About For The Holidays
If you can't make it to our annual business meeting on the 18th (or even if you can), you're invited to our holiday gathering at the Schoolhouse on Saturday December 9th from 4-6pm. It will be a decidedly low-key affair, with a pot-luck buffet and light entertainment. The light entertainment might just consist of turning on the radio. Bring something to share, even if it's just a smile.

After the standard amount of dithering, Chandler Travis has decided to once again produce his signature social event of the season. The Christmas Cavalcade For The Homeless will take place at  the Ocean Edge Resort on Sunday December 17. Everyone who's anyone will be there. If you're not already anyone, you can become someone just by attending. It's a Christmas miracle!
