Association of Lutheran Church Musicians
December 1, 2017 e-newsletter

Dear partners in music ministry,

What a wonderful gift you are to the church. I am so thankful for the gifts and talents God has given you and for how you share those throughout the church!

As the new church year begins so does the increase of daily tasks and pressures on your time. Know you are not alone. Your church music friends are in this with you. Together, through the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, we give each other support. Our organization and the services it provides are important to us.

So many of you give generously to the work of ALCM. In this season of gifting please consider including ALCM as part of your giving. Every donation made online or sent by mail is celebrated. Consider also using this form to give the gift of an ALCM membership to a budding church musician or to a colleague.

So far in 2017 seven of our members and friends have made contributions of $5,000 or more to ALCM totaling $117,000 in thanksgiving that we have this organization to support and encourage one another. With joy and gratitude we give thanks for each of these amazingly generous colleagues:

               $50,000 - The Snodgrass Family
$25,000 - The Rev. Mark and Kathy Helge
$15,000 - The Rev. Jaye Newbold
               $10,000 - Barbara Klingsick
               $6,000 - Anonymous
               $6,000 - William & Nancy Raabe
               $5,000 - Anonymous

May you be given moments of God's peace, joy and comfort during this important and hectic month. We are in this together as church musicians. We're not telling anyone, but there is nowhere else we would rather be.

Advent blessings,

Jim Rindelaub
Executive Director

Evangelical Lutheran Worship invites us to keep Ash Wednesday through Easter in a new-old way. During these days, we will worship using the services for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Vigil of Easter, and join in reflection, study, and discussion of the cross and empty tomb, baptism and the Bible--the meaning of this journey for ourselves and the world.

Mark your calendars to attend one of these events that will immerse you more deeply in worship for the Three Days. Come and be refreshed in your planning and leading of these worship services that are central to our worship together as Christ's church.
