Two weeks away!

The time has come!  In two weeks, runners will take over the Sacramento Area, toeing the line with elites and weekend warriors alike.  You are all rock stars to us! This will be your last newsletter for the 2017 California International Marathon Relay Challenge. The next communication you receive from us will be the Final Instructions to Runners on 11/30. Please read that email carefully as it contains very important race week information.

7:00am - Marathon and Relay (leg 1) start in Folsom
7:30am -  Exchange zone 3 buses depart pick-up location A (leg 4 runners only)
7:30am - UC Davis Children's Hospital maraFUNrun 5k start at 9th and Capitol
9:30am - Finish Festival opens at 10th and Capitol
11:00am - USATF Marathon Championships Awards Ceremony at 10th and Capitol
1:08pm - Finish Line and Finish Festival closes
 
CIM IS BECOMING A SUSTAINABLE EVENT
You can help us by:
  • Put your waste in the right place - use our sustainability stations
  • Ride - bike valet at the finish line for spectators
  • Active Transportation- RT passes available at the Expo at our Sac State Sustainability Group booth and several partner hotels
  • Give Back - donate gently used clothes/shoes at the Goodwill Expo booth
  • Take Aim - look for our 'throw me your clothes' signs at the start line
 
A FORCE FOR GOOD
2017 CIM Limited Late Entries raised over $85,000 for our partner charities.  This combined with the fundraising efforts of our affiliated charities and charity volunteer groups, we expect CIM to raise over $400,000 for charities in 2017!  For more information about our charity program please click here. 
 
DID YOU COMPLETE YOUR TEAM?
If you missed the deadline to update or complete your team (November 12), never fear.  You can still update your team at the CIM Expo.  Just head to the Relay Solutions booth AFTER you pick up your team's race packet.  Shirt sizes can not be guaranteed for any runners added to your team after the November 12 deadline.  
 
BUSING AND LODGING
Busing

Did you miss our busing survey?  It is okay!  You are still able to use our buses, your bib is your ticket to ride.  The survey is for our information only but does not commit you to anything.  You can find all the information regarding 'Getting to the Start' here.

Lodging

Still looking for a place to stay?  Check out the CIM Lodging page here.  With deferrals now closed several rooms may have opened up at many of our partner hotels.
