Palm Beach Dramaworks is committed to enhancing the quality of life through the transformative power of live theatre. Since their founding in 2000, they've distinguished ourselves with stimulating productions of classic, contemporary, and overlooked plays that inspire, engage, challenge, and entertain audiences. They're equally invested in the community, in education, and in nurturing the future of theatre, and as our reputation has grown, so has our reach and outreach.

In the span of a decade they outgrew our first two venues, a 45-seat theatre and an 84-seat theatre. On November 12, 2011, audiences were welcomed to their beautiful new home, the Don and Ann Brown Theatre, a 14,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach. The move opened up a wider choice of plays as the expansive stage accommodates larger casts but the 218-seat auditorium retains the intimacy patrons have always enjoyed. They produce five plays on our mainstage between October and June, and a musical during the summer months.  All sets and costumes are designed exclusively for PBD at their offsite scenic and costume shops.

They offer a range of additional programs and initiatives that educate, inform, and deepen the theater-going experience. Dramalogue is a series that explores all aspects of theatre, in conversations with or about the industry's top professionals and master artists. Dramawise provides an in-depth look at each production, featuring author and theme analysis, as well as a discussion with the cast, director, and creative team of each play. Outstage@PBD is a new initiative that was created to connect with South Florida's vibrant LGBTQ community.
