FEATURED EVENTS: Food Drives
The season of sharing and caring is upon us and several schools across the District are holding their annual food drives in support of the Oregon Food Bank, Elks, and other non-profit organizations. If you have non-perishable food items you'd like to contribute, please drop them off at your local school's front office. Most-wanted foods include peanut butter and almond butter, rice, tuna, beans, pasta, cereal, shelf-stable milk, cooking oil, canned tomatoes, and other nutritious food items.

Volunteer and Donation Opportunities
There are abundant opportunities for parents and community members to volunteer at or donate to our schools, but do you know what the needs are? There are several ways to find out! You can contact your local school, visit their website and donate through their webstore (District link provided, but many schools have their own), visit the Volunteer Opportunities or Donation Opportunities pages of HSD's website, or visit external sites like Just Serve, Hands on Greater Portland, or Donors Choose. We greatly appreciate all of your support!

HAPPENING IN HILLSBORO

Bond Activity: Furniture Fair
One of the bond projects that will touch every school is the infusion of flexible furniture into each classroom. On Tuesday, Nov. 28, HSD held a furniture fair to allow our elementary furniture selection committee an opportunity to see the options available, as elementary schools will be the first to receive the new furniture. The next step is for the committee to finalize recommended configurations. Orders will be placed in January or early February for the first 10-11 schools slated to receive their furniture in the summer of 2018.
