We're Prepared for the Snowy Months Ahead

The City of Castle Pines Public Works department is responsible for snow and ice removal on public streets within the City .

Our Snow Removal Goals
  • Maintain emergency service access to all City streets.
  • Plow Major Roadways frequently enough that primary streets are passable at all times. Minor Roadways will be plowed throughout the storm as quickly as conditions allow.
City staff and plow operators begin planning far in advance of the first snowfall. When snow is predicted, snow removal personnel report for duty and are assigned designated snow routes.

Every snow event is different and we regularly make adjustments to our snow removal operations based on the changing weather conditions in order to ensure the City's 36 miles of roadways and 127 cul-de-sacs are properly maintained.

Have questions? Check out our Snow Removal FAQ page.

Coyote Encounters are on the Rise...Be SMART

If wildlife gets too close to you, remember to be  SMART:
  • Stop! Don't run. If you run, the animal may be more inclined to chase you.
  • Make yourself look big! Look as big as you can so the animal knows that you are too tough to mess with.
  • Announce firmly "Leave me alone!" This lets animals know you are a person and it lets people around you know that you may be in trouble.
  • Retreat! Back away from the animal slowly.
  • Tell someone! Notify the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Northeast Region Service Center immediately.
Castle Pines residents are encouraged to report coyote incidents immediately be filling out the City's  Coyote Incident Report.
