LETTER FROM MRS. RYAN
Dear Parents,

Every day is an adventure.  Yesterday we had our first fire drill at the parish campus. Since we wanted this initial drill to be gentle in nature, I announced it in advance at morning assembly.  The teachers and I had all set our cell phone alarms, and at 11:00 AM  and we headed out to a predetermined place in the church parking lot.  As usual your children did a beautiful job following their teachers' directions.  We will build on this success as we conduct other drills aimed at keeping us safe down at our parish campus.

Yesterday there was also a meeting at our home campus with insurance adjusters. I marvel at the emotional roller coaster ride between mourning the loss of what we had and anticipating the lovely updated main building we will inhabit come January. Think brand new color scheme with new flooring, wall coverings, and cabinetry. Imagine the new HVAC system with individual controls in each classroom.

Our covered eating area will be replaced with a fabricated steel shade structure that will be located closer to the kitchen where hot lunch is served. I have included a photo to help you imagine it.
The Holy Spirit continues to bless us all with fortitude.  I see it daily in our dedicated faculty and staff and with your wonderfully resilient children. Thanks for your continued support and trust in us.

Sincerely,
Kathy Ryan
School Principal
PHONE COMMUNICATION WITH SCHOOL OFFICE
We have been experiencing some technical difficulties with our mobile phone communication here at the parish campus. Finding and holding a good signal to make calls out has been difficult.
We apologize to any of you with whom we  were speaking to and lost the connection.
Ms. KC's been roaming from corner to corner, stepping outside, under the tree, away from the tree, in the parking lot, trying to talk to folks!  We are working on a solution!

The good news is, we get your voice messages loud and clear, so please keep calling.
If you would really like to get an answer to a question sooner, or have a pressing issue, emailing Ms. KC may be the best way to get the quickest  response right now! Feel free to do so any time.
Lots of colds, coughs, and big germs running around campus right now!
Please be sure and review the school policy below for illness's and medications.
Let's do our best to keep everyone healthy!

DO NOT create a new account if you are a returning volunteer! Follow the directions below.

School Policy for Illness (from school handbook)
It's that time of year! Colds, coughs, sniffles, flu, etc.
All those little germs and bugs are busy jumping around the classrooms.
Here are a few basic guidelines for parents whose child(ren) may be coming down with a bug!

Fever
Fever free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Motrin before returning to school
Cough / Cold / Runny Nose
Few younger children can effectively blow their nose and wash hands afterwards. A child with thick or constant nasal discharge should remain home until clear to avoid spreading illness to others.
Vomiting/Diarrhea A child should be free of vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
Strep Throat
Notify office. A child is contagious until he/she has been on antibiotics for 24 hours. Child should remain home for 24 hours of treatment and until feeling better.
Lice
Notify office. Child may return to school after lice treatment
Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)
Notify office. Child may return to school 24 hours after treatment has begun. No discharge from the eyes.
The 24 hour test
A child should stay home for at least 24 hours if the following symptoms are present the morning of school or the previous night:
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Fever 100+
  • Itchy or reddened eyes with discharge (see Dr)
  • Unusual rash (see Dr.)
  • A poor night sleep due to illness, cough, etc.
Reminder: Children may not keep medication of any kind with them during the school day.
See 'Medications at School' policy below.
