A Godly Play Thanksgiving
This coming Sunday, the two Godly Play classes will meet together.  We'll hear the story of the Exile and Return, when God's people were taken away from the land God promised them, the land they had grown to love and call home.  And they were taken away from their Temple, the place where they felt the presence of God most powerfully.  Though they were separated from the places that had formed their faith, they still had each other, the stories of their ancestors' wilderness wanderings, and other stories that had shaped them as the People of God.  To keep their identity as the People of God, and to teach their children, they told those stories over and over through their years in exile. It's a powerful story that reminds us that, even when we are away from this place we call Epiphany, we still belong to a people of faith with a shared story.

This Sunday, our Godly Play Sunday Schoolers will add to our Epiphany story and gather in thanksgiving for each other, our shared experience of God, and this Epiphany place we call home.  We'll have a special thanksgiving project and a special feast.

Way of Life Bible Study
An Advent Bible Study based on the book,
"The Great Spiritual Migration"
by Brian McLaren

Wednesdays, November 29-December 20
6:30 to 8:00 PM

Advent is a time of preparing, a time of expectation, a time of coming... This Advent Season, we will be joining together in study as we gather each Advent Wednesday for a Bible Study based on Brian McLaren's book, "The Great Spiritual Migration."  With an Advent theme of preparing, expecting,  and coming, we will learn how shifting away from an outdated system of beliefs to a new way of life based on love can lead to new, more redemptive communities and practices.  Our time together will be a time of worship and study, approaching and engaging in the spiritual, theological, and missional "migrations" outlined in McLaren's book.  Each week we will have the opportunity to see Christianity with new eyes, being challenged to focus less on doctrine, more on new ways of reading Scripture, and ultimately on love as manifested in the life of Jesus.

PAINTER - PAINTER -
PAINTER NEEDED
The Property Team is looking to accept bids from painting contractors to paint the exterior of the church and replace trim work as needed.  If you know of a painter who is interested and that you could recommend, please pass their name and contact information along.  We will be looking for at least 3 bids, hopefully more, so that we can move forward with this badly needed church maintenance project.
