From the JVA Office: 4 Trends in Junior Volleyball
The JVA is proud to announce that in it's third consecutive year of the JVA Sponsorship Program, a record 59 indoor clubs are named JVA Sponsor Clubs. As a member driven and member centered organization, the JVA is giving $200,000 back to the JVA Sponsor Clubs this season. Read more.

Having been the President of Eastside VBC for the last 22 years, having served on a High School Board of Education during the Columbine shooting, and having been affiliated in many community youth organizations for the previous 40 years, I am asked many times for an opinion on the difference in kids from 40 years ago versus today.  I answer that kids have not changed as much as adults have. There are many factors that multi-sport athletes look for when choosing a volleyball club. Many clubs have found ways to appeal to the multi-sport athlete, and VCNebraska is one of them. Based on the club's demographics, Club Director Maggie Griffin made some adjustments in order to attract multi-sport athletes to the club.

The Junior Club Service Award acknowledges all individuals from a JVA member club who have served junior volleyball for at least 20 years. This is the perfect award to say 'Thank You' for your service to junior volleyball.

Academy Volleyball Club (Indianapolis, IN) shares transition footwork patterns for outside attackers to help players quickly get ready to attack the 3rd contact. Footwork is broken down without a ball, with a ball entered by the coach, and creating a 6v6 wash drill scenario during practice.. Click here to watch.
As volleyball exploded in popularity, Dulles Club Director Seng Chiu recognized two problems: Young players were being systematically weeded out, as most clubs targeted elite-level athletes, and those who endured oftentimes burned out. Read more.

In September, JVA  set up the " Rally Against Harvey and Irma" fund to help the people affected by the flooding and hurricanes. The fund raised over $6,000 and JVA is making sure every penny donated goes to a good and worthy cause. Recently, JVA donated $1,000 to the Greater Houston Community Foundation for Hurricane Harvey relief, and $1,000 to Florida Community Foundation for Hurricane Irma relief.
