Growing in Grace & Peace
Grace---St. John the Baptist---Volunteer Week A
Dear St. Isidore Families,

In All Things Give Thanks!
Thanksgiving break is fast approaching and parents, students, and staff are looking forward to sleeping in. I hope the break allows you quality moments with family and friends. Please join us for an all-school mass this Friday at 8:10am.

Running with Love
St. Isidore School is excited to once again participate in the Running With Love campaign started by alumna Alyse Cronin. The mission of Running With Love is to remove the environmental barriers that are preventing the children of migrant farm workers from getting a high school education, while providing food, clothing, and educational support to those workers. A detailed donation list can be found below, and all items are due tomorrow , Thursday, November 16 th . We are hoping for 100% school participation. Thank you for your support!

Uniform Modification for Cold Weather
As you have noticed, the cold weather has begun. In an effort to keep students warm and comfortable at school we will be implementing the winter uniform modification after Thanksgiving break.
1.    Boys in grades TK-5 are to wear long pants ONLY!
2.    Girls in grades TK-8 can wear tights or leggings under jumpers and skirts.
We appreciate your support in adhering to the uniform policy.

Mind the Gap
Thanks to all of you who have donated to the Mind the Gap Annual Fund this year. The money goes to our current year’s operating expenses, which are mainly comprised of salaries and benefits. What you may not know is that it also helps fund tuition assistance. Our school gives approximately $130,000 in tuition assistance per year. About $50,000 -$60,000 of this amount comes from our St. Isidore School Foundation, with the difference coming from PTG fundraising. The money we raise this school year helps current students stay in school. Thank you so much for your generosity.

 #GivingTuesday
St. Isidore School will be participating in our first #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, powered by social media, which encourages philanthropic giving. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for our Mind the Gap Annual Fund via the donation button on our St. Isidore School Facebook Page.
Your support on this #GivingTuesday, 11.28.17, will assist in our continued efforts to raise money for the items discussed above.

#Give2SIS  -  Please make your gift at 5am PST on #GivingTuesday, 11.28.17 . Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are partnering to contribute up to $2 million in matching donations to US nonprofits on Facebook, up to $50K per nonprofit!  Consider making a gift in honor of the year 2017: $20.17, $201.70, $2,017, or even $20,170! All of your donations will be treasured!

Join us on our social media platforms below to help us spread the word on our #GivingTuesday efforts.

Thank you Mrs. Dunican!
Our second grade teacher, Miss Landry, was chosen for jury duty. In her absence, we are very grateful to former long-time teacher Mrs. Kathleen Dunican for stepping up to support Mrs. Dougherty while Miss Landry is away fulfilling her civic responsibility. We are grateful and happy to see Mrs. Dunican back on campus.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Scrip
Scrip News......

Are you heading out of town and hitting the road for the Thanksgiving break? If so, In-N-Out and Chipotle SCRIP are a must for you. A few Starbucks and Peet’s cards are great to have on hand for that trip away too!
We know that our school families love Disneyland. Plan your visit to the happiest place on earth a little easier with our Disney $25 and $100 SCRIP cards.
Movies are another wonderful way to enjoy family entertainment or a date night out. This time of year there is so much to see and if you have been waiting for Wonder or Justice League, they are out this weekend. Order Regal and Cinemark SCRIP, and all you need is popcorn.
This week we will not accept Special Orders because the school will be closed for Thanksgiving Week. Sadly, we are still without Safeway Scrip this week.We apologize for this inconvenience. We know how much cooking happens this time of year, whether you are hosting or a guest. Lunardi’s, Sprouts, Smart-N-Final and Whole Foods are also great places to stock up for holiday cooking.
Thank you St. Isidore families for remembering those in need over the holidays. At Scrip, we have supported Loaves and Fishes through Soup Kitchen donations and St. Isidore Church's Adopt-A-Family Program. All donations no matter how big or small have made a difference in someone's life. Scrip will continue to collect these donations over the holidays so please use Scrip forms for your holiday giving.
Make it a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
