Making History: Atlantic High School Football Team Earns Their First State Championship Game Berth Since 1978

The Atlantic High School Eagles have done it! The team clinched its first state championship birth since 1978 in a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over Miami High in the Class 8A semifinals Friday night.  

Riding the wave of perseverance and excitement, the Eagles will take on Orlando's Dr. Phillips High School at Camping World Stadium in the 8A Championship on Saturday, December 9.

There's "No Debating" the Success of Dreyfoos Student Alex Gordon
 
Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts senior Alex Gordon is the picture of success. A Communications major and honors student, he was ranked second in the nation as a congressional debater during his junior year of high school. 

"Dreyfoos School of the Arts has undoubtedly provided me with an unparalleled education," Alex shares. "I not only have access to some of the best teachers in Palm Beach County, but also  academic opportunities to learn and to achieve."

Central Region Strengthens Community Ties With Family Engagement Night

The Family Engagement Nights held by the Departments of Federal and State Programs (Title I) and Multicultural Education continue to grow and expand as they empower more families to aid with increasing student achievement.

The 2017 International Hour of Code Week is December 4 - 10, and PBCSD is celebrating in full force!   

Hour Of Code is a global movement designed to bring a coding experience to millions of students in more than 180 countries. The School District of Palm Beach County's goal is to ensure that every child is given opportunities to learn and succeed in an increasingly competitive global economy.  
Coding helps students exercise their creativity and learn a skill that will be valuable to them as they prepare to enter college or the workforce.
